Isn't that a wild district?

Sleazy and/or ugly rather than wild.

Shoddy sex shops, a few (very ugly) prostitutes, and a large number of "clip joints" where naive and either not very bright (or at least a little drunk) men get suckered into buying overpriced drinks for girls employed by the premises. When the sucker protests at the enormous bill, very large men appear and threaten them if they don't pay.

The Moulon Rouge, a classic tourist trap is also there, ready to divest ignorant rubes of their money.

Wander around if you like, its not dangerous to just walk around, but don't go into any place in the area expecting "wild" unless you like being ripped off.

To add to Rilifane's description, it is one of the most touristy areas of Paris. The tourist coaches queue up to go up and down the street before delivering their load of victims to peep shows or overpriced junk shops.
It is not a dangerous place except if you don't watch out for your purse or camera. The only good thing for a tourist is that behind it you have the Montmartre hill which is nice - if overcrowded - and for a Parisian you have the biggest fabrics shops in Paris.

Pig Alley is a sloppy neighborhood. During the daytime, it's safe.
