I would double check to make sure she doesn't have a Urinary Tract infection. When they do they have to go more frequently and will drink a lot more water. She may even strain when urinating. If you can catch any urine in a container and look at it check for blood & cloudiness. If you catch some drop it off at your vet immediately to have it tested.
Good Luck!!

I haven't heard of you - and quite frankly after this posting - can honestly say - not particularly caring much to find out about you.
I'm a bit shocked and disgusted. You've had this dog for 14 years and willing to ditch her that quickly? You haven't mentioned what the vet said - I'm guessing you haven't even taken her - is this because she's only a mutt? It's probably a bladder infection, or she's 14 and is having trouble controlling her bladder.
You don't deserve to have a dog for 14 years if you're going to ditch her or kill her (yes, euthanasia is KILLING your dog - and no, under the circumstances, it's not being merciful) over something like that.
Personally, I'd probably switch from carpet to laminate if it meant I can keep my dog. She's given you 14 years - give her some frickin' respect.
When my dog got sick - I took him to the vet. I ended up spending much more than I could afford, in fact my mum helped me pay for the vet bills because they came to $500 dollars a month (minimum). Why did I do it? Because he was so loving and gave me so much joy. How long did I have him for? 4.5 years. Do I regret spending the money? Not for one second.
If necessary - spend the money, change your flooring if it's old age. Or get a compact carpet cleaner - but first, take the dog to the vet.

You really need to get her in to see a vet. She is an older dog and my be having some bladder control issues. Her arthritis my also be causing her alot of pain so she does not want to move much to use the bathroom. Make sure you are cleaning the urine marks with an enzymatic cleaner as dogs are creatures of habit and will go to the place they have used before.
Urinating that frequently may also point to a medical issue. Again, your first step in resolving this issue lies with your vet.

Ummm....forget about bringing other people's dogs home and keep the one that's been devoted to you all these years. Jeez...she's marking her territory the same way all animals do, especially if you've brought in an animal that has trouble socializing. IT"S HER HOME NOT THEIRS...This has happened to us when a friend had a death in the family and we had to keep his dogs while he sold his home and moved. We get on to them but they will go when we're not home, etc. It's our fault we brought in new dogs and ours felt threatened, not theirs. I wouldn't dream of getting rid of any of mine regardless of the carpet. The carpet has never loved me or been there for me to cuddle when I was down. My dogs were. They didn't ask for new members to be brought into the house. Just give the people back their dog. Showing a dog isn't that damned important that you have to give up a 14 year old family member.

Get someone else to socialise the dog with temperament problems, your Retriever should come first as it was there first.
By the way. I have never bloody heard of you no matter how much you brag about everybody should know you by now. I don't! What utter rubbish
I DO NOT NEED TO GET OVER ANYTHING. YOU ARE THE ONE WITH THE AGGRESSION AND ATTITUDE!
IN VIEW OF YOUR LAST. NO CHANCE OF TEN POINTS THEN??

Likely a urinary tract infection treatable by vet with antibiotics.
If it is behavioral you ever heard of a crate or baby gate? I'm suprised you don't know this as a show handler - you sound just like the usual pet owners on this list.

nicely for the bachelorette social gathering, you should first locate out how wild/tame your sister needs it to be. If she needs it wild, take her to the closest strip club and purchase her some booze. If she's greater conservative, take her out for a tumbler of wine or a spa social gathering. For the bridal bathe, take something that your sister loves and make it the assumption for the social gathering. Ex: if she likes zebra print, get a zebra print cake (sure, that's available), napkins, and so on. you will might desire to locate a place, yet different than that and elementary snacks & video games, a bathtub is effortless to plot.

She might be showing submission to the newcomer. Is it urine or fecal matter?
Have you had this dog for 14 years and seriously considering giving her up for a dog you are only fostering? That sucks.

you say the dog at 14 has arthritis, maybe its hurtful to get up and announce..*HEY I gotta go*..watch the dog closely, if it looks painful to get up and move about, take it to the vet, have it checked, there are meds for arthritis for dogs. Dont give up a loyal friend because of this.

changes in their environment will make them do that sometimes. shes nervous. or could be some type of bladder infection. id get a urinalysis done just to check. in the mean time, try to build her self confidence with a lot of reassurance and lovin.
