cause none of my friends like him should i have said no and live without even trying it and keep my friends happy or did i do the right thing and i guess ill just find out who my real friends are?please help

You're friends are probably just jealous - either they wanted the guy for themselves, or they are afraid that you are going to spend ALL of your time with him (and not them).
TRUE friends would be happy for you - unless the guy had a VERY bad reputation. But in that case, they would have at least told you that much...

Question is, do you like him? If you like him enough, your friends should understand if they are really you're friends. On the other hand, they may be really looking out for you so you might want to think about if there are some things you should worry about him.
If he's really just a great guy, then they are probably just hating and aren't good friends.
Overall, it's good that you're taking a chance. But hopefully, you've gotten to know him pretty well. That way you won't be rushing into anything in the first place. Good luck.

Why don't you go out with him on a date so that you can find out what type of guy he is, and ask your friends to be supportive of you.

Live your life how you want to. Don't ask for your friends opinions and don't worry about ours. If you're happy, then that's all that matters :)

first, do you like the guy? your friends should be happy with your decision. if they have a problem with the guy, its their problem. not yours. give yourself a break and tell them "hey, i like the guy, and if you dont respect that we cant be friends"
