If being gay is a choice why would they choose it when religious people constantly harass, insult, degrade, and politically legislate against them?

The same reason a straight person would choose religion. To meet a need. To feel like they belong. Or to try to fix a problem. It's like asking why would a curly haired person choose religion? Or why would a female choose religion. Their sexual orientation makes no difference.
Many of us grow up having religion in some part of our family and childhood, and for many people choosing to go back to religion is a matter of comfort. It gives us a place where we feel like our wrongs can be made right, or that we are a part of something bigger than ourselves.

Read the first chapter of Romans...being gay is a choice...and it's a bad one...that is why gays and lesbians spend so much time trying to prove that it is natural...if it is so natural, then why can't 2 men or 2 women produce a baby??? And why don't their "parts" fit together properly. Not to mention, why do so many gay men try to act like women and so many gay women try to pass off as looking like men??? It's because it is wrong and they are trying to make it look right....they try to chose religion because they need to have something that makes sense in their lives...and maybe just maybe they will see just how wrong it really is....Romans chapter 1 says it all...read verses 18-32 paying special attention to what it says in verses 24-27...
black and white...for the last few thousand years....it is wrong

ok, like this: some people are born gay, some people choose to be gay; some people are born jewish, some people choose to be jewish; some people are born gay and choose to be straight; some people are born straight and choose to be christian; some people are born and die without making any choices. and besides that your question doesn't make sense . . .any more than "If some people believe the Earth is flat, why do they choose to fly to the moon?" Or this: "If green is like an apple, why is ice cream like a number?" Ask a silly question, give users a chance at 2 points, huh?

People choose a religion based on their beliefs, you cannot compare homosexuality to religion. There is only one type of gay, however their is a wide spectrum of religions. Although there are a lot of religious people opposed to homosexuality, more religions are beginning to accept them. We have to understand homosexuals are people and they were created with the same love as heterosexuals.

Just because being gay isn't a choice it doesn't mean that gay people are incapable of making choices.

Why would anyone choose religion? Because of their beliefs which are no different from heterosexuals.
Some are religious and some are not.
Aren't we all God's children?

Some people choice a religion and then change the religion to suit their needs....
Some will try to suggest God does not exist...
Some will try to corrupt logic to make their behavior acceptable.
Case in point, the corruption in human logic from 'we are all equal before God, or the law'....to 'we are all equal'....which is a lie...
