God has, and will wipe out most of humanity and start over again, so why the need for a perfect God to hit the reset button?

Nowhere in the Bible does God lay claim to ignorance. What makes you think that hitting the reset wasnt in Gods original plan? Nothing was completely reset... existence continued directly from the "resetting" events

I have no idea. It seems like something that is supposed to be omniscient and omnipotent would be capable of getting things right the first time.

Another example, from Genesis: God makes Adam, and then has to make animals because Adam is lonely. (Mistake #1: God thinks that Adam would be ok alone.) He makes a crapload of animals in an attempt to satisfy Adam (Mistakes 2 through 2 billion: the animals he keeps making). Then, finally, he makes Eve.

Yes, I know it is just a myth, as are a ton of other stories in the Bible. And I know that nearly every culture has a creation myth. But it seems like if God was really omnipotent/omniscient, he wouldn't mess up *in the first chapter of the first book of the supposed holy text*!

Why you must be so sure about this?
On base calculation and scientific data, a distition on large scale can be happened to largest community due to unbalance in the resource. So, this is an earnest calculation on the base of evolution theory, it's not fiction at all. As you know many species on this way to distiction today and backwards to dinosaur. How long will human can be adapted in the long run of enviroment? To an adaptation in evolution a human can adjust, this is very interesting to us, but really need our urgent alert on what decrease is on all sides of life, right?
Human can solve his own problem with his own wits, and all of us will become smater, more educated and achieve what we call a stance like "good god" and create our heaven on earth. god is so obsolete and give up his preachings to all of us.

How about you about reading the whole bible( spend 15-30 minutes each day, and you'll be finished within a year) and really, begin from Exodus. I want you to understand the cruel, despotically -overpowering ,blood thirty being Yahweh is. I want you to read about what happened to the freed Israelites once Moses had been commanded by God to tell the Pharoah to liberate them. I want you carefully scrutinize this sonorous line-reiterated after almost every passage in the beginning of Exodus, "but I will harden Pharoah's heart, so that he will NOT let the people go" God ordered the Pharoah to let them go- so then why was he hardening the kings heart so that he will adamantly REFUSE to let them go? I would especially like for you to carefully read the book of Job, and to really get a more profound insight upon Yahweh's diabolical nature. Read upon what happens to Job, a noble God- fearing man from OZ who bore 10 children and cared for plenty of animals. Read and meticulously observe how God made a pact with Satan by unsuspectingly slaughtering all his children and animals- only to see if this respectable man would curse him once in return.

To really comprehend the genuinely sadistic, insidious character of God, read Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Judges, and Job. Those books are extremely compelling.

He doesn't need redo's! There is nothing that is not God, and there is nothing that God isn't! God is not capable of making mistakes, and there is no such thing as a mistake. God has never wiped out humanity and started over again. Humanity has nearly wiped itself out, and may be in danger of doing it again soon! But, only we are responsible for this, and only we can change it. If we are to change it, we have to change our beliefs. We would have to understand that we are literally one, and that separation from God, and from each other is an illusion, and anything we do to another, we do to ourselves. We would also have to understand that there is more than enough for everyone to have at least their basic needs met, and that every one of the resources on this earth, literally belongs to everyone of us. We would also have to understand that there is nothing that God needs from us, in order to be happy. He does not need us to behave in a certain way, or to believe in a certain way. God's will for each of us, is exactly identical to our own will for ourselves. He gave us free will, because he wants us to be free to decide for ourselves, what we want to be, do, and have! *sm*

It's written when the power of God's Holy people is broken this world as we know it will end. He doesn't need the redo's man does. Would you want to keep around several billion people and not have a single person that would give you the time of day?

Man just never learns from his mistakes. It's a big mistake to take God lightly. To mock him. To disrespect Him. To disobey Him. Seems man still hasn't learned. Except for God's love and patience today, it would all have happened again. He's waiting for the last one to come to Him before He sends the next and final destruction of the world. This is the prayer of the Christian that He delays His coming that all will turn to Him.

God gave man freewill, and then they screwed that up... so He did the flood - Noah's Ark thing. He then vowed NEVER to do it again. So it WON'T happen again, even though we constantly screw up.
