send them to an eternity of burning fire?

Even if they mocked you openly, and did everything you said not to, would you still be like "Yeah, I love him, but he doesn't love me, so it's fire time sucker!"

Do you see how this logic escapes me?

Never, anything pass 10 seconds in burning fire is not called love...

Hell is unfair-unjust-and an act of an evil person. Just think about it, if I spend 99% of my life as an atheist, then I accepted Jesus before I died, then I go to heaven, however a man who spend his life 99% as a theist then dies as an atheist will burn in hell for eternity. as humans we can only do a finite amount of sin, but hell is an infinite amount of punishment....why call him god, if this is how he call punishment?

You are absolutely right! God always has a purpose and sending someone to hell for eternity does not accomplish anything! That is why the teaching of eternal damnation & hellfire are FALSE! The hellfire doctrine was NOT taught by Jesus nor by ANY of the bible writers! Study your bible, people! From cover to cover it talks about being "cut off" or "put to death" or "perishing". Then there's only a few mentions of anything to do with either "fire and sulfur (brimstone)" or "the lake of fire" in the New Testament. Revelation even says that "death and HELL were cast into the lake of fire", so obviously any mention of the "lake of fire" is not referring to "hell" as people think of it!!! Not to mention that the KJV perpetuated the false doctrine of the "eternal damnation" teaching by translating 3 different words to "hell", when all 3 have different meanings! Just take the most famous verse in the bible, people- John 3:16. People are quoting it all the time but I doubt they really think about what it's saying. Aside from telling us that God loved us so much that he gave his only- begotten son to die for us, it also lays out the result of belief and non- belief in this sacrifice; "...that whosoever believeth in him shall not PERISH (meaning "to die" or "cease to exist"), but (alternatively) have EVERLASTING LIFE. That's it! You either persih or live on- there's no eternal torture chamber! STUDY THE BIBLE AND QUIT LISTENING TO AGE- OLD FALSE DOCTRINE!!!!

Dear Tucking Fypos,

I would only do it if they wore cotton-polyester blends, ate shellfish, had unbaptized babies, didn't do exactly as I said (then I would torture their children too, then kill them and send them to hell), dared not to make love gender-specific - it isn't, but that ain't MY problem, or used the word "Jesus" in an ineloquent manner.

Oh, wait! Job! That's right. Job did everything I said AND thanked me for the honor of doing it. How dare he, that twit?! He didn't say it 957, 222 times like I told him to! He just kept thanking me and paid no attention to the number of times I told him to! Rather than threatening hellfire upon Job, I tortured him to death. Killed his wife, his kids, took his land, had his friends forsake him, and then gave it all back when I got the point across that he had only thus thanked me 923,845 times, NOWHERE near the amount I wanted yet. Gave it all back, but by then he was an old, broken, devastated, guilt-ridden, groveling man. He didn't need it. Knocked him off a bit later. *Smirks* Hee hee hee.

Be careful, you.

Love,
God

P.S. Man, if you think I'm psycho you should see the nutter who answered above me! I imagine that by 'excepting' me she too is setting herself up for a lifetime in the eternal, burning pit. *Roars* NOBODY excepts me! I will not be excepted, dammit! I am not an exception!

It escaped most Christians until Dante published the Inferno. Too bad that abhorant doctrine had to creep into the western Church.

What the theists who say "God doesn't send you to hell, you choose to go there," fail to acknowledge is that this deity supposedly created hell for just this reason. I mean, it's not like we humans say, "Well, I just refuse to love this thing for which there is absolutely no proof, so I think I'm going to create this hell place where I can burn for eternity."

The logic of the question escapes me, to be honest.

But it leads to a great point- why are people so incredibly mean to their exs? I mean if they were good enought to date and maybe even marry and have kids with, why can people be so mean???

if you loved some one, lets say a wife. Would you not fight for her, to keep in heaven. Question God why? The woman you share your life with is no more when you die. Do you truly love your mate, of do you even care?

if fire is something that exists in MEST (Matter, Energy, Space and Time) and the soul is a spirit that exists outside of this MEST; how could you punish one with the other?

When you love your child, you try to teach them how to avoid the things in life that will cause them harm, or pain. Sometimes, they think that they know what's best, and decide not to obey . If your child starts using meth, and prostituting, and ends up under a bridge with nothing but the clothes on her back, and a bad hangover, are you to blame, if you've done everything you know how, to stop them?
