1Nephi 2:15....And my father dwelt in a tent.
Actually, I think that this little tiny verse shows a great deal about Lehi's character. He was a rich man with lands and servants. He lived comfortably. He willingly gave all that up to follow God, even though he did not know where he was going, what God was going to require of him and his family or how they would even eat. His was an act of faith. I think that we would do well to trust in God and to remember how great our sacrifices may be, chances are that we are not going to be asked to leave everything behind.

Through out my life, my favorite scripture(s) has changed depending on what is going on in my life at that point. For example, when I was in high school struggling with getting up everyone morning for early morning seminary, my favorite scripture was 1 Nephi 3:7 But right now, at this point in my life, my favorite scriptures are the chapters about the sermon on the mount in both Matthew 5-7 and 3 Nephi 12-14

2 Nephi 2:22-25 "And now, behold, if Adam had not transgressed he would not have fallen, but he would have remained in the garden of Eden. And all things which were created mut have remained in the same state in which they were after they were created; and they must have remined forever and had no end.
" And they would have had no children; wherefore they would have remained in a state of innocence, having no joy, for they knew no misery; doing no good, for they knew no sin.
"But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things.
"Adam fell that men might be, men are that they might have joy."
Yes, I know someone said this is the scripture why they are no longer LDS, but this is the passage that answered for me that question we all ask at one time or another, "Why am I here?"

Heleman 5:12 12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fal
I like this verse because it explains that Christ is (or should be) our support. Yet, he isn't an umbrella. We'll still be subject to all the trials of life, but we'll have a foundation that is sure.

Today mine is 3Nephi:9 15-18 because its when Christ came to the Nephites. I also really like the vision of the Tree of Life that Lehi had.
15 Behold, I am Jesus Christ the Son of God. I created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are. I was with the Father from the beginning. I am in the Father, and the Father in me; and in me hath the Father glorified his name.
16 I came unto my own, and my own received me not. And the scriptures concerning my coming are fulfilled.
17 And as many as have received me, to them have I given to become the sons of God; and even so will I to as many as shall believe on my name, for behold, by me redemption cometh, and in me is the law of Moses fulfilled.
18 I am the light and the life of the world. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.

For me it is 1 Nephi 3:7.
7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.
To me it says, you do your part, The Lord has done His and because He has done His, many things are possible.

Alma 32:27
"But behold, if you will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yes, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words."
This has always been my favorite, because it tells me that no matter where anyone of us are spiritually, we will always have a starting point to build or re-build our faith in God.

Mine is 2 Nephi 11: 29-30, wherein it says:
“For verily, verily I say unto you, he that hath the spirit of contention is not of me, but is of the devil, who is the father of contention, and he stirreth up the hearts of men to contend with anger, one with another.
“Behold, this is not my doctrine, to stir up the hearts of men with anger, one against another; but this is my doctrine, that such things should be done away.”
The spirit of contention is on this forum, but especially it reigns on the message boards. All it does is breeds bitterness and enmity between those willing to assume such animosity.
I always think it is best to back off and let the contenders have at it.

Alma 37:37 Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.
It always runs through my head when I forget to say my prayers.
