I'm pleased to see you said "some"of them are most rude, because of course, not all of them are, but it sure does seem that way sometimes, doesn't it? I've noticed this myself, especially among the more financially enhanced members of the Christian faith. Again ... not ALL, just more so pronounced. It does not speak well for any dominant religion to have members of their faith not abiding by the laws of their faith. It gives them all a bad rep and it shouldn't have to be that way. It certainly wasn't meant to be that way with any faith. But there are always zealots who have embraced egotism and forgot what the message is about. They become the symbol for what that faith stands and give a very poor image. They become the power and ... ingnorance is bred.

Just do the best you can. Smacking one with their own bible is -- not such a good idea. Assault charges, etc.. Find another way to make your point. I know you were only kidding ... and believe me ... I KNOW what you're talking about. It's not just with Christians, it's with anyone who believes their $$ value buys their stairway to heaven.

Evil can be absorbed by anyone. Putting a "christian" label on yourself doesn't make you sin free or keep you from falling into temptation. Paul said that he died (to sin) daily. Meaning everyday he had to pray and repent because at any moment you can lose it and forget all about being a child of earths creator. And why are you asking "upper class" christians? There are lower class ones too. Sometimes I lose my way and I have to open the holy word to get back on track. NO ONE is perfect. It's mostly non beleivers who have the false assumption that we think we are perfect. We know we are not because the holy word tells us so.

Boy, oh boy, someone must have ruffled your feathers today. Listen, I have worked with the public for many years, I think some days you can deal with mostly nice folks then all of a sudden a real jerk comes along and next thing you know you blame everybody. One idiot can make you believe that people are jerks when really it was just one person or a few who upset you. Don't smack someone with a bible that is not nice, Funny, but not nice. Take a deep breath and start fresh tomorrow. Even rich people need Jesus.

I find that a lot of Christians regardless of social class seem to be snotty and big jerks.

Anyway, your question made me think of something I read in a Sociology book a couple of years ago when I was in college. It was chart that stated (through research) what type of people would be more likely to join a particular denomination. Right off the top of my head the upper classes seem to perfer denominations such as Anglican, and (I think Catholicism) and the lower classes seem to prefer Baptist and a few other Protestant religions.

I'm not saying all are like that, it was just a book and it's research.

Haven't noticed that too much it Texas probably because of the oil field influence. Or just the fact of Texas being Texas and Texans being Texans.

No - just the opposite.
Attitudes like this are regional, and may or may not represent the same attitudes in other areas. Where I live, the exact opposite seems to be true.

yes, I get what you're saying, but here in AZ (mesa) it's a bit of the opposite, we have a large number of LDS who think that they are a bit "upper class" compared to others -- now I'm not saying all act it, but wow, quite a lot do....

Well some people, of any faith think they're so good because they put a 10 dollar bill in the offering plate or think they're sooo good because they helped out with the church fund....They do things for themselves not for God.

What they are has nothing to do with there Christianity. That is what they are and it's a question of personality.
