Basically, she just blurted it out in the middle of lecture. I laughed and so did everyone else. She got embarrassed and left. I don't think I should report it to my boss because having anything strange like that on my record might hurt my future as a teacher. I am hoping it's an isolated incident, but if it happens again. What should I do? What should I do now?

Don't take off your shirt. There, bet you didn't think about that, huh? LOL

Seriously, if you are younger and good looking, you may have to deal with this quite often. I wouldn't be too harsh with the student, but try not to laugh with the students. The thing is, with students and teachers, if any rumors start, it ALWAYS ends up being the teacher's fault. Fair? No. True. Yes.

You don't have to report it to any superior if you aren't comfortable doing so but you do need to document the incident. If it is documented in your roll/attendance book than you will have proof that it did happen and you considered it significant enough to document but not report.

If she or anyone else should ever do something like this again you need an appropriate response. How about "That isn't appropriate lecture material, please don't let it happen again", then move on with your lecture.

Good luck!!!!!!

It's probably a good idea to report it cause the other students are going to talk about it, and it may end up being heard by other staff members. Best to get the story straight from you.

You don't need to do anything. Sounds like it took care of itself. If she was embarrassed enough to leave, she won't say anything like that again. If she does, I'd just pause, give her a blank stare and then continue with the lecture. Sounds really juvenile and pathetic to me. Any kind of attention would be exactly what she wants. Don't do it.

To protect yourself, you better tell your boss (your principal?)

Currently there have been a streak of female teachers that are being accused of acts/behaviors with their studenst.

With how things are this day and age, you need to protect yourself, your reputation, and your career.
