mine aren't bad enough to buy something expensive like StriVectin, but I'd like to take care of them before they get that bad.

thanks about the vitamins. I am very healthy and I make sure I take whole food vitamins daily. I do think it gets a little worse around my period because of minor anermia, but other than that, its not health related. It's genetic (mom has them too).

Try going to marykay.com, they have an amazing firming eye cream that took my dark Circles and puffiness away. It isn't expensive and the bottle lasts almost a year.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

There are two schools of thought on the dark circles. One school says they can't be cured, only camafloged. The other school says they can be cured with Haloxyl, with results beginning to show after two months of continued use.
Maybe best to use bare minerals 'well rested' to conceal them.

As to puffiness, Eyeliss works well, about $15.

For a cheaper solution, and don't laugh: Preperation H. For an organic cure: tea bags, used, chill them in the fridge.

Good luck!

My eyes seem puffier in the morning. I put a little mentholatum under them. The vapor allows for more tears and the swelling goes down. As far as the dark circles, if it is not genetic, please check your eating habits. You may be unhealthy due to low consumption of vitamins. Please check your veg/fruit variety in you diet.
