Did he mean later...as in Saturday night or at a later date?

I called this guy friend of mine, left a message and he called right back. I like him, and I'm sure he knows, and we've been wanting to hang out together soon. I asked him what he was doing and he said that he's going out with a friend for a lil bit but wouldn't make it a long night, and that he'd call me. Then he asked me what I was doing this weekend and I said I might go see a friend's band play, but didn't know for sure if I was going. He's a lil older than me, I'm 26 and he's 33 so he might think that's lame lol but didn't seem like it. Anyway, then he said "cool I guess I'll talk to you later then" I said ok cool, and we said bye. Now I might be looking too deep into this, but does he mean later as in that night or he thinks I'm too busy so he'll call at a later date? Because I didn't want to seem so busy that he wouldn't call!

And I told him I might not be going anyway, but that's what he said at the end of our convo, so I was just curious?

"Later" can mean just about anything - but in this case, I would say that he means on a later date (like tomorrow or the day after).

If he said he'll call you "tonight", "later tonight", "in a bit", or "before I turn in" - then you know for sure he means tonight...

And yes - you are looking too deep into this... But it's all good ;);)

well he did say that he was doing out with a friend so I would just wait for him to call then ask him if he wanted to do go out sometime no point sitting around waiting for him to make the first move if you like then just ask him out but I would wait till he calls you back

He's not into it. If he was, he'd be asking if he could go with you. He'd also would have wanted to see you after going out with his friend. Don't skip the concert because of him.

So you Could call him ... "hey didn't go see "whatever band","
Do you want to get together tonight?" If he says "no". At least you know where you stand - Good Luck !
