I'd call that an ultimatum. He's telling you for a reason. It's over. You should tell him how you feel. I don't know your whole story, but if he just told you "out of the blue" then you have a right to be mad. That's wrong for him to suprise you about liking someone else. He AT LEAST owes you an explanation. But you may never get it, so don't waste your time trying too hard to get it. It sounds like this is for the best if he didn't have the courage to tell you earlier. You can't force someone to like you or love you. It will hurt, but you have to MOVE ON with your life, and learn from it.

Well, how important is he to you?
Oh wait, it doesn't matter - he likes your friend.
One one hand, you must give him credit for being honest - though in relationships pue honesty is rarely reccomended - but if he wants your friend, you and he must be done.
Finish the relationship with him off. Do not let him use you to get closer to your friend.
More importantly, tell your friend about this and if she is a real friend she will not persue him and the greedy fella ends up with nothing.
He had a wonderful catch in you and got greedy and thought he could just jump onto your friend? NO WAY.
Greed should get him nowhere.
YOu need to do the right thing and cut him loose, and the quality of your friend will be determined by her next move. A real friend will shum him.
Or at least beg and grovel for your permission to date him - but your feelings and say are the final word on his/their future.

Doesn't sound like he's much of a boyfriend.
But first, let's clarify something. You're a girl I assume? Thus, being a girl, I need to make sure you're not over reacting. YOU need to make sure you're not over reacting. (I don't mean to be sexist, but come on, girls over react.) Did he say "like" as in, "I dig your friend as a girl friend" type like? Or was he simply stating that whatever friend is in question, he does not HATE this person. Be clear on this.
Then, be clear with him. If he's had eyes for you, now his gaze has shifted, you gotta have it out with him. If you care about him, approach him respectfully and try to sort things out. Tell him how you feel. If his feelings really have changed, then there is nothing you can do. You can not MAKE a person love you.
It sounds like you deserve better anyway.

The good thing is that he told you instead of cheating on you with your friend. However, that only tells you he is somewhat honest but he likes one of your friends so why would you want to be someone who doesn't like you anymore. There's no point in changing for someone or trying to convince him to stay with you so don't think of that. I know it must be hard but you deserve to be with someone who likes you and only you! So the best thing to do is to end it.

yeah you need to break up with him. I mean he likes your friend and he even told you.
so don't waste your time on a guy (even if you love him you'll get over him eventually) who likes someone else!

dang girl! das gotta hurt! there's nothing you can do... if his heart is set on somebody else, then it is... BUT.. if you are in high school, its all about trying people out...i dont mean sexwise, but you don't want to get yourself attached to the first guy you meet... for LIFE! CRIKY! anyway, me sowy u hurt...tell him you couldnt care LESS and see what happens, but WHATEVER YOU DO.... DO NOT BEG FOR HIM! let the leash go and he'll come home draggin his tail behind him... and if he dont... then carryon.

Well, I know that it hurts, but the only thing that you can do is accept it and carry on. At least he was honest with you about that. He could have been seeing you and her, too, behind your back. It's time to find someone who going to love you back.

well let him go.. if he can say that to you .. then he is not a good boy friend anyways.. so dump him before you get hurt .. GURL i think you can do better than that. .. dont you believe that you deserve better than hearing that your own boyfriend like someone else and especially one of your friends!! u can do waaaaaay better than that.. step up girl..
