My husband has these pea sized bumps on the back of his head, right along his hairline near his neck. Sometimes they really bother him and sometimes they don't. I have been plucking the hairs out of them (sometimes there are 7-8 hairs in one pore), then sqeezing the puss/blood out and putting peroxide on them, but they don't seem to ever go away. Does anyone know what they are or a better way to get rid of them??

I found this info, with some tips at the end of the article... hopefully this will help....

It's known as Pseudofolliculitis barbae.

In order to eliminate neck bumps from the back of your head you first need to understand what hair bumps are and where they come from. This will enable you to form a successful plan of attack. Bumps that appear around the back of your neck and hairline are a direct result of ingrown hairs. Ingrown hairs develop at the end of the hair shaft. They have a sharpened edge and they attempt to grow straight, however something prevents them from doing this and as a result, they curl back into the same hair follicle. This creates dreadful, ugly, and often confidence destroying neck bump, which is nothing more than an inflammatory response by your body to the infection caused by the ingrown hair. This inflammatory response or neck bump can often be visually seen as a: pustules, mini red bumps, or purple raised bumps. The infected areas are often itchy and spread quickly as a result of you scratching them (or picking at them - parenthesis mine), causing more abrasion and opening the skin up to more bacteria and infections. This condition is often known as Pseudofolliculitis barbae.

Keep the infected area bacteria-free. You can do this by washing the infected area with any bacteria-killing soap, (scrubbing gently with a clean face cloth) or whatever product your pharmacist recommends. Once the area is washed and throughly rinsed, use a cotton ball to dab on hydrogen peroxide and then allow to air dry.
Avoid all lotions, creams and maybe even change the shampoo he uses to something gentle like baby shampoo, for the time being. Once the area starts to clear, he can start back in with his regular products.

If it doesn't begin to clear up in a week or two, he may need to see his doctor about getting an antibiotic cream for the area.

I hope this helps.

No. You bump heads because you are a female, and females are complicate. He's a male, and males are simple. You need insight into how you can use your nature to make him feel manly and respected, rather than trying to change him. I recommend you read The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands. It could save your marriage - and make you one happy, married woman.

This may sound weird, but try getting keflex (its an anti biotic)
it will make the hairs come to the surface and will gradually clear up... or even a hot water bottle as heat brings out ingrowns etc.... or there is a small procedure in hospital, were they cut it out,, hairs growing inside can be quiet harmful and i actually know a guy who had this prob and it grew down this spine, doctors wont operate as its to close to the spinal cord

I had a spot on my chest in one area that always grew about 3 or 4 hairs in one pour. The hairs came out sometimes easy and puss. I kept pulling and useing aclohol and yes it burned like crazy but after awhile the puss went away and now no wild hairs or puss. It stank and I had a big puss bump during the ordeal but after using alcohol it did go away.

Hair loss affects both men and women. Here are some natural remedies that can help boost hair growth: https://tinyurl.im/aH7Re While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.

See the dr. Don't make him suffer. Just get it checked out. My guess is that one round of meds is going to clear it up permanently.

They are boils. I suggest getting some professional help so that way they don't spread, or become any worse.
