Try Benadryl or Unisom they are both over the counter.
Take a warm bath and drink some herbal tea.
Do you have someone to talk to? It seems like you are either worried and/or depressed.
And of course, if you can score it, get some xanax or klonopin.Weed can help too.

Sometimes a good J/O session helps, maybe even double up if you can. Excederin PM may be a temporary solution.
Stay away from Nyquil as someone mentioned the alcohol may make you drowsy but you will probably have a rebound effect. Alcohol induced sleep is a restless sleep anyway.
Try to determine the cause of your insomnia, stress, drugs, look up insomnia on the web for more information, why not your awake and in front of a computer anyway.

This may sound weird but It worked for me.........
Go to bed at a REGULAR time EACH night. Lights out.....
stay there!! even if wide awake. DON'T read, or listen to the radio or anything. Just lie there in the dark
Set your alarm and get up at that time EVERY morning! no matter how tired you are.
Do whatever you do during the day, then the same again that night, and every night.
You are retraining your body to know that you are in bed to sleep.
It may take a little time, but if you have ruled out any medical or emotional reason why you can't sleep, it should work.
By the way you ARE probably getting little cat naps of sleep during the night without knowing it....
I still have nights when I think that I can't sleep, and usually want to go sleep at about 7.30 in the morning, but I don't, I get up at my usual time. The next night all is OK again.
If - like me - you like to read in bed, you will eventually be able to do that again, and still get a good nights sleep afterwards.
Good luck, its such a bummer to always be so tired......

My daughter just went thru that. You can try sleep time tea, melatonin works pretty well, after a few doses HOT bath or shower. I use a sleep mask, so even if I open my eyes, I see nothing but darkness. Since I started doing that, I sleep better and longer. All else fails-go to the ER, tell them you passed out and haven't been able to sleep. They will give you something and bill you later. Good Luck.

Well,, trouble sleeping ha? Hm.. i think you are depressed or something that make you can't sleep every night. Let the problems out!! Just think you are the luckiest guy ever in the world. You can't sleep because you always think that you can't sleep. How can it work?......Don't take pills too much. They are dangerous for your health. Good luck.

over the counter sleep aids, or read. thats what i would do if i wanted to sleep. i hardly sleep myself, but that is because im a firm believer that you should be awake as often as you can be, you get enough sleep when youre dead.

You've come to the right place! -Hang out around here until you can't keep your eyes open any longer, & then pass out on the floor, next to the computer. You'll be Asking "Questions..."- in your dreams! :)
