I think you are looking at the wrong person here. What is your father saying about it? If he's allowing her to make this rule then your problem is with him, not her.

She should not have any say in it your mom and dad should be able to make the correct decision, i don't think there is anything wrong with dating before 16 years or age

It is a sticky situation. If you both are in the same household you should have the same rules. But, I do agree that it should be between you and your mom and dad. So, you might watn to sit down and talk to your mom and dad and see what they really do think. 16 is still pretty young! YOu hae a big long life to live!

Well, I'm 15; will be 16 in Dec. I still haven't been on a "real date". But still, i think that it should be your mother and father's decision, not your step-moms. Try talking your dad about it

I am a stepmother to two kids, and they should have respect to me. I am very nice to them and respect them as if they were mine. Of course I think she should have say in the matter. When your dad married her she accepted you to, as bad as it may seem she is part of your family now, she cares about you a lot I am sure. I am not meaning to sound mean, but I do think she should have so say on some things, maybe not all but most. I hope things go good for you. If you ever need to talk you can email or IM me.

You are living with her and she feels that she has the right
to make decisions on how house rules should be. Anyway
talk to your dad about the situation and let him explain to
your step mom the situation. Whatever the result, then you
have to conform since you are not yet of the right age to
decide on your own.

I hate to say it, but it's ultimately your father's decision if you live with him...and if he decides your step mother is right...that IS his decision. If your mother has custody of you and she thinks it's okay, then you'll be able to date before 16.

I'm sure she's trying to be fair to you both. It might sound mean to you...but it's possible that she cares about you and is just trying to keep you safe, too. If she treats you fairly and tries to be a good step mother to you...don't sweat the small stuff. Hon...you should have had MY step mother for a minute. She was/is Cruella DeVille!

The woman is only a Step. I just don't understand why Steps always think everything is their business. I would speak to your real mom and go from there. Good Luck!

She is trying to be consistant with you and her daughter to be fair.

I am not sure how this back and forth works for your dad and mom. But enjoy the time and your mom and this is something they may need to discuss and work out.

This is not a battle you should fight. Get you mom to work the issue and you try to be cool.
