I've been working toward an engineering degree at the community college and it's just about time to transfer. Now I know the UC has a much better reputation, but money is a BIG factor. Either way graduates from both schools with a degree in engineering tend to find employment within their fields. What advantages, if any will the degree from the UC afford me.

Once you get your degree it really doesn't make a lot of difference which school you graduated from. Whoever hires you will have to train you the same way no matter where you went to school.
The only way it could make a difference is if someone in engineering management in the company hiring has a preference for graduates from any particular school, and in that case your odds are probably 50/50 anyway, no matter where you attend.
My personal opinion is that CU has a better name recognition, and is proably the better engineering school, but I'm just prejudiced because that's where I graduated from.

have you ever considered employing to Cal Poly SLO? It has an exceedingly good recognition among the Cal States and an exceedingly good engineering college. Supposedly they have super aspects and interest connections besides. At a UC, you have extra advantageous get admission to to graduate-point labs and the possibilities to do study as an undergrad could be extra advantageous--yet you may probable get each and every thing you like at a competent Cal State. except you are going to Berkeley or UCLA, call popularity in engineering can't be a extensive deal over a CSU.

UC will be better and the name recognition is better. Better choice in jobs. Sorry, CSU grads, but the UC degree just carries more weight.
