I have been feeling very ill since Monday. I visited the doctor on Tuesday and he checked out my ears, throat, heart etc for symptoms of the flu and he said I appeared OK.

I am extremly dizzy, I have to remain laying down. I get hot and cold flashes where I start sweating and feel very dizzy like I am going to throw up and must lay down. I usually drink 1 liter of water a day and have NOT been consuming water the past 5 or so days so I am guessing I am very dehydrated.

I have to go to work tommorrow and work this whole weekend. I need to get better tonight! I know I need to OD on water but what else would help?? Please help me I am so miserable :(

Begin immediate ingestion of water and other clear fluids. Go slowly to avoid getting sick. Rinsing your mouth with warm salt water will increase the retention of the fluids in you body.

Drink 8-12 eight oz glasses of water per day. You're no camel and you will pee constantly, but it will be worth it. Staying hydrated is important because your overall blood volume is increasing and water is essential! Dehydration can also contribute to constipation, fatigue, preterm labor or miscarriage and you certainly don't want to have to deal with any of those... Just remember that's a 'per day' rule of thumb. Carry a refillable water bottle with you everywhere you go and try to sip on it as often as you can... It will eventually become habit for you and you won't even be thinking about having to drink water. You'll reach for it automatically... Strictly limit your intake on heavily sugared drinks/coffee and both you and baby will be just fine. Good luck!

You need help because you're dehydrated?? HOw old are you?

If you make a mistake, next time you try to do it right by learning from your mistakes.
If you feel pain you say "ouch" or stop doing whatever caused the pain.

If you're thirsty, what do you think you should do????

1 litre of water is not enough! Double that. When i'm sick i usually drink gingerale.

YOu also have to eat. Even if you're not hungry, just f***ing eat. A little at a time, light meals. Lots of fruits and veggies.

And finally: SLEEP!

Drink plenty of water and try an over-the-counter cold or flu medicine provided that you do not have any contradictions to taking them. Something else you may want to try for the dizziness INSTEAD of the cold/flu medicine is something like dramamine (it may make you somewhat drowsy). Also instead of water try pedialyte it has the electrolytes you need if you are infact dehydrated. Oh and if your boozing it up, don't.

I would suggest going to the ER so they can get some fluids in you and also give you something to help you hold down food and water until this virus passes. They have things that can help. Insist on it.

drink water, LOTS, but drink gatorade, propel, ect. more. It has a lot of electrolytes and will hydrate you a lot faster for a lot longer. Those drinks were made for that :)
