Unfortunately, your parents can do whatever they want. Seems severe to me - I have raised three boys and never had to go to that extreme. EVERYONE deserves privacy!! Sorry you have to go through that!

Yes parents can do some extreme things sometimes, but what gave them the reason to do that also? I know when I was younger and got into a lot of trouble I was made to keep my door open so they could see that I was behaving. They would threaten to do a lot of things like that or send me away to girls school. Sometimes as you will see when you are a parent we have to do things to try and protect our kids and if they are doing wrong and we want to help correct or put and end to that behavior we will do some crazy things! But at the same time everyone does deserve some privacy I would never take a door off, but if mine are in trouble they don't get the luxury of going to their room to hide I make them sit in the family room with me and that can be the worst thing for them! They have to watch what I watch on TV and sit and be bored.
No music, no phone, no computer ect. So I guess it could be worse! lol. Good luck hope they put it back on soon

Crazy as it may sounds from your perspective....
However there must be a reason that they decided to take this action. Instead of blaming them, perhaps you can try and recall what you may have done wrong... for your parent to take such an action..
Or even perhaps you did nothing wrong.. however somehow they decided that within a family, there should not be any privacy and that there should be an open trusting communication flowing within...
This can also be the reasons...
EVERYONE actions must have a REASONS....so perhaps you should jsut ask your parent...abut it.. and not being confronting as if they made a mistake and ypoun want your door back..

take care

It happened to me when I was in high school. On my mom's wedding day I was too depressed to go and be in the ceremony. The door was locked and I wouldn't get out of bed to open it. I did eventually get up and participate. The next day, the door got taken off the hinges.

Didn't last too long though. They made their point.

BTW, a lot of teenagers DONT deserve privacy...

Wow. that is crazy. But im srry to tell you that parents have the right to tell you what to do and do what they want to do. Srry but thats just the way it gonna have to be untill they decide you need privacy again. Good luck. : )

If you aren't a shy person you should get back at them by walking around the house naked. And when they question you just be like "well I don't have a door so you guys are going to be seeing me like this anyways". Or something along those lines. If you do it just enough to get under their skin they will be begging you to take your door back. Lmao

Um yes. It is their house and u have obviously done something to lose their trust.

Think about the guys in columbine that had padlocks on their doors. Wish their parents were as smart as yours.

YES!!!! It is THEIR HOME .. and they can do ANYTHING that they want to do with their home ... and ... more than likely -- you have done something that they do NOT Want you to do and are doing this to make sure that you are SAFE and NOT bringing into THEIR HOME any DANGER of any sort!

This is NOT Crazy ... you have CONCERNED and LOVING parents to want to make sure that you are SAFE and not involved in anything that can mean danger or loss of life!

Yes, they can. Sounds like they aren't able to trust you. You need to do whatever you have to in order to regain their trust. I find it hard to believe they removed your door for no reason.
