Because he doesn't want to be in "your" relationship any more. What do you think? Why don't you stop nagging the guy all the time? God, give the guy some slack. Does everything always have to be about you?

Same reason that many woman do the same thing. They are trying to be deceptive or afraid of their partners responses. My new wife and I thankfully are mature and old enough to have had this time in our lives pass on. We do not play those foolish childish games and are 100% honest and open with one and other. Sure there may be things that perhaps we don't really want to hear but at least we are being honest and not trying to hide things that we view as small from one and other. Sooner or later it will come back to bite the person (regardless of which sex is withholding the info) and the consequences will certainly be larger the longer it goes on.

because they can! Honestly, I think it's because if they tell us the thruth all the time, they think they are whipped, or something to that effect. God forbid they are honest with us, even about the little things. I don't think this question will ever truly get an anwswer, because even if a guy answers it, he will probably be lying

I am personally working on this myself. If a guy doesnt feel like you are interested sometime he will answer questions or make statements that are based on the truth but are exagerated so you can think he is cool

To gain the gf's trust. They might have done something wrong and knew that the gf will blow their top so they choose to do it the easy way out - lying. To cover up their mistakes in short.

i don't know. i'm a guy and i would never lie and i can't remember a specific time when i lied to anyone though i am sure that i have i just can't remember a specific incident.
