I think they would. It wouldn't have much effect as hybrid technolgy works much better with smaller cars than with heavier cars. I'm sure those clever marketing folks could convince some to buy it though.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has a hydrogen one. Estimated cost $100,000. I think anyone that buys a hybrid suv has a guilty conscious.

Instead of buying high priced hybrid suv's, why not just buy a second car that has good fuel mileage? Drive the suv when you need it, drive an economy car when you don't. That's what I do. BTW I can only drive one at a time.

as ive seen people that own hummers dont care about stuff like mpg or there fuel economy, most of the time its only one person in that huge car and why do people need such huge cars, its not like must go out 4x4 ing or anything. i think hummers and big trucks and huge suvs are a waste of money hybrid or not, if someone needs them for work thats ok but most of the people i see driving hummers are taking them to the store or mall and thats just a waste anyway you look at it and there usually alone and thats such a waste of resources for one person.

It's easy to take the moral-superiorty angle and put all SUV'ers into a box - also intellectually dishonest.

Some think the added weight of the SUV provides more protection for their family (and critics blast them until they have familes of their own). Some live in areas whene SUVs offer the only ground clearance needed. Some others want the extra space for carryinging items, and others, yes, just want them for the feeling of power (not unlike people who relish the feel of not having them -- the attitude that they are better or more principled).

Instead of hearing 'hybrid' ans 'SUV' in the same sentence and taking another opportunity to bash SUVers, I applaud them for at least trying to compromise in such a way that at least shows that they are thinking about green issues.

People who buy Hummers and other large SUVs don't care about fuel economy or the environment.
