A former coworker of mine sent me an invitation to attend a BBQ party to celebrate her graduation (She got a MBA). I couldn't attend but I wanted to send her a card. What should I write in the card? Should I have something like, "Sorry I couldn't make it to your party....."??

Congratulate her. Don't even bring up the party. Let her know that you are proud of her accomplishments. She probably didn't even realize you were not there!

Tell her beforehand that you can't make it to her party. In the card just write how happy you are for her and how proud of her you are.

Put that as a PS. The main content should be "Congratulations on your Graduation!!!"
