Hello

I have a 2003 lincoln navigator which which was purchased a few months ago. I have noticed that the air coming from the muffler is extremely hot. is that normal?

Have no worries this is a normal thing with the navs. Especially now if you run your A/C in the summer, the car is running longer, and in turn your engine is producing more heat that needs to escape, and thats through your muffler. If your still concerned keep an eye on your temp gauge, if it rises above normal temps than bring it in for service.

Yes of course it is normal. the muffler is the only way for exhaust gases to erxit the engine. as u know, the temperatures inside an engine are extremely high. it is only natural for these gases to remain hot during their exit thru the muffler.

those trucks are notorious for the blend door actuator motors burning out...i have had several experiences with these...its a pretty involved project as the center console has to be removed from the vehicle to replace it but it is located in the very bottom center of the dash and once the console is removed it can be accessed....good luck

yes after running yes very hot if you touch you will burn yourself and your cat is hotter over 1000 degrees

This is perfectly normal. You don't need to worry about it.
