I'm not asking because I don't have any & want to know... I have many & not done yet. But for those of us who have them and lived through every step. And I'm not talking about those who walk into a shop & pick out flash designs just because they want ink. I'm talking about those of us who actually put thought into it and get custom work done..... What part do you dread going through (if any).

Waiting for the next session,I am 1/2 way through a sleeve and we have been working on it for 6 months,1 sitting of about 3 or 4 hours per month and after about 3 weeks I am hanging out to get back in to it.
I am starting to have cravings already and its only been 6 days just writing this is making me want ink.
That's what I hate unfinished work.

Coming up with an idea isn't so hard. I tend to have "AH-HA!" moments, and since I can draw alright, it's not hard for me to get my point across to my artist.

Finding a good artist and shop isn't too hard. I know what I'm looking for.

The tattoo process itself isn't so bad. At least I know what's going on.

For me, the worst part is the walk to the chair. Before I get there, I'm not so nervous. After I sit down, I feel like I've committed myself. But the walk there is always scary and makes me kind of jumpy.

Getting the design exactly the way you want it when working with your tattoo artist is very tedious, but worth it in the final product.

I personally hate the healing stage where it itches so bad and there's nothing you can do but slap the darn thing. Thats the hardest process for me. :)

I don't really 'dread' any part of it but the design is definitely the hardest for me. I'm a very crude artist at best and it seems to take an eternity with the tattoo artist to take my piece from my sketch to what I'm truely invisioning for the piece. No flash designs for me!

Staying still. I am a hyper person and can't stay still very long. Even at the computer I am standing, sitting, kneeling, but being still, ughhhhhh.

The art isn't a prob, don't get the ink until I have the concept firmly in my head. Waiting for another, just no ideas right now feel perfect. Until that point, I can just relax.

choosing what type of tattoo i want is the hardest because i take so long to come up with something, cuz i want to make sure thats what i'll want forever. something that represents me. or my life. even though i have 3 tattoos, everytime was exciting. just the healing part is irritating.....the tattoo on my back got ink all over my pillow! lol

For me it is getting the tattoo. To me it really hurts! but after it is over I really don't remember the pain and my healing goes so fast! So it is only the needles on the skin that is the hardest!

When the needle first breaks the skin..Thats the hardest part; after that you usually go into a numb state and the rest is just watching "ART" at it's best..The healing isn't that bad if you take care of it properly and stay out of the sun....

The hardest part for me is waiting until my artist was ready. Then watching her put together her machine..I get a little antsy during that part. And I agree with another answer, when she first gets going...eeek. It's cake from there:)

the hardest part for me is finding a person to do it. That was the hardest part for me because i first had to find a nice clean place, then a person within that place that can understand me (or at least try to), then have him/her verify that they can do what i want....
