Unfortunately, WWIII will be global suicide, therefore in answer to your question, as long as there's rational superpowers who believe in MAD, there will be no WW3. By definition, the next world war wil be nuclear, how could it not. In a nuclear war there will be no winner. In a nuclear world, the only true enemy is war itself.

The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not if both sides believe no price for victory will be too high. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.

Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask what country would be victorious, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.

While we hear talk of a nuclear-Iran or a confrontation with NorKor, little is said about the 2 bulls in the glass shop. The arsenals of Russia and the US are enough to destroy a million Hiroshimas. But there are fewer than 3000 cities on the Earth with populations of 100,000 or more. You cannot find anything like a million Hiroshimas to obliterate. Prime military and industrial targets that are far from cities are comparatively rare. Our biggest threat is from an accidental launch by the Russians.

At the point of global suicide, it doesn't matter who is on what side....where you go to hide, or how long you can survive. In a nuclear age like i said before, the only true enemy is war itself.

Probably some time in the next 10-20 years.
Though we've got to be careful how we define "world war" - it's a matter of perspective. World War 1 and 2 were "total" wars - every single was mobilised to the absolute maximum, feeling the threat to their civilisation's very existence.
So far - the Western world's very much asleep, and so to call it a World War from their (those who are writing history's) perspective, is not yet current.
I'd say a conflict of that magnitude will develop by means of a complete global breakdown. The US will probably get embroiled in the Mid-East with Iran, which escalate to include the whole Islamic World, then Russia would rear its ugly head. China and North Korea would no doubt seize the opportunity of a distracted US to invade North Korea and Taiwan. At this point the US would be completely thrown off - no longer giving any protection to its allies (so who's then to stop, say, Indonesia just annexing Australian fishing and mining resources?).
The EU would probably do something cool, too. Who knows.
All we can know is that there will always be wars so long as wars make money. And the people who make this money KNOW that they can't keep it, if their society goes up in smoke. So, if it goes nuclear, that obviously would be completely unintended. MAD has protected the world for 60 years and the only thing that will stop that any time soon could be the Missile Defence Shield (curiously one of the greatest provokers of war).
Either way, the ashes always clear, and the world moves on.
Europe and Japan were unspeakable at the time of 1945, just look at them now, only 60 years later.

WW3 started when the USA invaded Iraq without real provocation. You can't just go back and say sorry, we made a mistake. Or, all we wanted was control of the oil ... we didn't mean to start such a ruckus. Armies and police departments exist at the pleasure of the people. Even the people of the USA are against the war in Iraq. In 1965 the US Army had a vehicle that used water for fuel, but it was taken away because oil people wanted to keep us addicted to oil so they could make big bucks. The Fox News clip at the link below is about water for fuel.

First off you are looking at a total meltdown of the world. What I mean is that all the countries are going to have to fall at once. As of now we are building and yes everybody is talking about god and evil. Lies just lies because God said that he will come like a thieft in the night. So, all these people talking about 9-11 and everything else need to just shut it!

Main thing you have to look at is control and lies. Now we see some of the lies and control being played out in USA. If this keeps up we will all be force and pitted against each other in war all for greed. It up to the people to stop this because we all know we don't want this. We the people will be in total control of the wars that will play out. Even now with the lies of Iraq standing in front of us. How we sit and let government run this country into the ground. I could go on but this answered your question..

Lies and corruption and abuse of power threw the people.

It's definitely bound to happen within the next 100 or 200 years. How, I am not completely sure. But most likely it'll be against the U.S. and North Korea and China and all those other Commie nations. The Middle East will have something to do with it too. And yes, it will be a nuclear war.

WW3 has already started; it is simply a war between good and evil. It was started at the beginning of time when evil was born, and became "hot" on September 11, 2001 in New York City, thanks to Osama bin Laden! WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!
