When they pick contestants on Hell's Kitchen, how do they pick? Like, what are the backrounds of the people that are on the show competing? Did they all go to culinary school?

No, I'm not interested in joining the show...just curious!

You can tell they didn't all go to culinary school. I know its not looks they are looking for. i think they are looking for a mixer of people to have a good compention with each other. I like the girls against the guys. Now thats fun and when Joanna get home I clapped. She was a really mouther on the show.

They pick people who are going to make it interesting that includes putting people in who will rub each other wrong and with different skills and personalities. It is solely for entertainment purposes. I am sure they have 100's if not 1000's of people with excellent culinary skills but that wouldn't make it such fun, would it.

I love the girl from the Waffle House and how great is it that she is showing up a lot of the others who think they are so great??

They don't want people with a lot of experience because then Ramsey would have to agree with them, and that's not the point of the show. I've seen the Waffle House gal kick butt, I've seen a housewife, people with no culinary background. It's a reality show, so they want people he can pick on to see if they can take it.
