I won't be scooping the litter box because I have help, but I am worried about possibly the parasite getting on my kittens fur. Does it have to get into your mouth and be digested to be spread to humans?

Toxoplasmosis is a disease spread by cat feces. You can get it by changing a cat's litter box without washing your hands afterwards. As long as whoever's helping you scoop your cat's litter box washes their hands, they, you, and your new baby should be fine.

You can get toxo from contaminated feces, gardening in soil, and from handling raw meat. Wash your hands well and avoid touching any of the above while pregnant. Have someone scoop the litter box out daily (the oocysts take 24 hours to become infective). Have the box disinfected weekly. Use good hygiene and avoid the above and infection would be rare.

It's generally only spread through direct contact with a dirty litterbox. It does have to be directly spread to a mucous membrane (face, mouth, nose, etc.) to be contracted. It is not present in all cats' fecal matter, the cat itself has to be contaminated with it to spread it. Your best bet is to wash your hands after playing with kitty, and avoid the cat box. You shouldn't have anything to worry about.
