State law. Church law does not apply to me.

I would put neither first. I would put common courtesy and protection of those who are weaker than us and our homeland first and foremost. State or church laws are OK as long as they do not interfere with our basic rights! When either puts the leaders or organization first above the people themselves and their rights and homes, then we have a problem. We have a right to defend ourselves, to own property, to earn money to give our families safety, clothes on our backs and food on our tables first, then we help others THEN we help organized government/religions, unless it interferes with the first areas.

State law takes precedence unless the state law is totally intolerable and then we work to change the law.

.............. state law evolved from church law.

"church" law (God's Law) above anything else is that we obey God and His commands...... to love one another, and abide by the rules that govern us... therefore...... we are to obey them BOTH, equally.
..... to disobey state law would be an act of disobedience against the authorities and institutions that govern the land. According to the Word, it is God who gives authority and wisdom unto men ...... to make decisions, to enforce laws, to govern, and so on and so on.
So, any governments power in legislation has been given to them by God, whether they choose to recognise and acknowledge it or not.
Therefore, if their power and position has been handed to them by God, for us to disobey the law that has been given to us by them, is disobedience against God's law by being insubordinate or defiant to the governing authorities over us.

God hates disobedience. Therefore, how could one disobey state law, and yet... claim to obey church law? it is impossible.

*the only exception would be, if what was state law dictated was violently opposed to what church law stated.... in the sense that it caused moral conflict for you as an individual or for a society.... (but both God's law (church law) and state law are in agreement on most of those issues that would cause such a conflict.... such as murder, rape, stealing etc etc etc.) therefore, the execptions to obeying state law are slim to none.
