I have dated a few guys that would be considered nice guys; the type of guy that almost always is only friends with a girl because they see him more as a friend. The guy that is romantic and sweet and spoils you rotten. Maybe could even be considered the 'nerdy' guy.

But they always seem to know that if they didn't have me, since they had such trouble getting a girlfriend before me, that they might be alone for awhile if we didn't work out.

So they end up meeting a girl that is interested in them when they are still with me and end up kind of cheating just so they can have this back-up plan.

Is this common or did I just draw the short straw?

ps.. i really don't think I wasn't giving them enough attention. I'm a dorky kinda girl that likes to spoil my guy with candy and flowers, too.

Don't blame the guys.Perhaps you're the person who make the wrong moves.Relationships are not only candy and flowers. Some times the person must be more than a simple doll or a movie Starr. The fact is: people cheat because the can't get what they need in the other person.Think about this and perhaps you get the answer to your question.Be honest with yourself.

Because they aren't nice guys.
