Curious. Any religious zealot please answer. Is it better to cherry pick from various parts of your holy book to fit the argument (even if the quoted part may be from something that is unrelated) or do you rather use the work as a whole.

For example, if you came to the biology board and said Goddidit. I would refute it by using the Theory of Evolution. Not just part and parcel, but all of it. I don't like to cherry pick. How about you?

Cherries are good for you health. So, cherry picking is okay. LOL ;-). Seeing as how many holy books have analogies, parables and symbolic stories....I think it most appropriate to cherry pick, use common sense, and use the tools of mordern man (science) to discern your truth as well as studying other religions to find their truths.
