Spiritual: 1. having to do with the human spirit as opposed to material or physical things. 2. having to do with religion or religious belief. Mystical: 1. relating to mystics or mysticism. 2. having a spiritual significance that goes beyond human understanding. 3. inspiring a sense of mystery and awe. In my opinion, there isn't much of a difference between the two.

Mysticism relates to states of altered awareness and is the goal of many who practice meditation. It is attained through the emotions and often is difficult to explain since it registers in the non verbal parts of mind. Spirituality does not require altered states of mind and can be quite rational for the person experiencing it. Both lead to the notion that there is a created order but how this is interpreted can be very different.

'Mystical' is unconcluded (as of yet): it's open.

It's waiting to discover, for oneself.

Oneself is one's verifier. Seeing is believing.

'Spiritual' is also good. It's relying on the words of others, as well as on oneself.

There's more faith in spirituality, that can be either rightly or wrongly placed.

The mystical can be verified.

The spiritual: possibly.

Spirituality can potentially give way to the mystical, the Mystery.

Perhaps when the 'search', becomes realised.

Fulfilled.

Neither's fruit need be awaited for after death, necessarily.

Here is what I mean by these words when I use them in theological discussion. These are specialized definitions for Christian doctrine, not general dictionary definitions.

mystical: Received from God by direct revelation, not through Christ's earthly ministry or His Church.

spiritual: That which has existence without matter or energy, but pertains to the divine.

Something that is unknown.
Mystical leans towards a more magical composition, where as spiritual although magical is more to do with the energies that surround us & not just the make believe.
