My puppy will be a year old next month I want to get him neutered.... do you think it is a little late?

It's never to late to get your dog neutered. I had a dog who was 5 years old when I got him and he wasn't fixed. So I took him to the vet and they neutered him. It is a little harder on an older animal, but your dog should be just fine.

Puppies are usually neutered around 6 months, but its never too late!

Not at all. Opinions on how soon to neuter a male puppy vary widely, and all have good and bad scientific points. But all are agreement it is never too late.

Better late than never. Just do it.
I waited until one of my dogs was 16 or 18 mos before I had him done, but that was because one of his testes had not descended.
I have had rescues as old as 12 neutered. Of course at that age it depended on their overall general health as the main concern is the anesthesia.

NO it will never be too late!
But I will be realistic and honest with you, at this age he may have gotten the behaviours of adult males, neutering will not simply take those instincts away! It may be subdued and decreased over the years. But it doesnt simply vanish!
Nevertheless, you should neuter him.
It will be good ;
for him because it will take away the risk of diseases like testicular cancer and so on.
for you because it will infact reduce vet prices and spaying on furniture. etc
for other people because it will reduce the chance of him impregnating their bitches.
AND
for the pets worldwide because it will reduce the number of dogs being euthanized daily.

Heavens NO, it is never too late. I rescue dogs and have them spay or neutered before adoption. Last one was 9 yrs old. Please do it....there are too many homeless babies out there. And he will be a nicer, friendlier pet.
