'Douche' is the French word for 'shower'...it's the word used for internal washings-out of a woman's vaginal area...and is even MORE often used as a term of insult [usually in the form of, "You're a real douche-bag, Sid".] In the feminine products shelves are various powders & potions to add to water for the douche operation...and before the disposable syringe gadget, women used a gravity-feed type bag [similar to a hot water bottle] with a tube and nozzle to flush themselves out. Thus, being called a douche-bag is sorta retro as to insult.

A douche is a method used for irrigation. No, it is not crap, but a valid word from our American language that is french in origin. It is sometimes used as derogatory insult towards females. If I were ever referred to as something relating to a douche, I would ask the speaker if they knew what they were talking about.
