I know when I turned 18, but I want to perform a ritual. I've read about these, sometimes dangerous rituals, to celebrate my transistion from boyhood to manhood. I am still feeling like a boy and I want to perform like a ritual or gathering cermeony to commence my transistion into adulthood. Do you have any suggestions?

Didn't you graduate from highschool?

Also, you can be water baptized to die to the old sinful person , receive Gods atonement for remission of your sins, and raise from the water a new man in Christ. Water baptism is the Christian ritual.

a ritual doesn't make you a man. Anyone could have a bar mitzvah or something and still act like a boy. Manhood comes from a well priortized life, permanent morals, wisdom, responsibility and respect. Don't get tattoos or piercings; those signify nothing about manhood. I would just experience what life has to offer for the next 2 or 3 years. Then maybe your personality and desires will be set. But you'll know it when you are no longer a boy.
Good luck!!

I just joined a church, I wasn't a church type of person but I found one that was way different. They have a ritual for those that young adults. They do it at age 13 and it is called a Rite Of Passage. They have a big party and the parents and young one go to the front of the church and the parents pray with them and tell them how proud they are of them and make a big to do about them not being an adult. They can't
do adult things yet but they are considered adults in the church. It is a very emotional service and I'm sure they feel like an adult after this. Maybe you can see if there is a church near you that does this and be a part of it or just go, it was really emotional for me and I'm middle age.

If you aren't being treated as an adult by your family this can be a part of why you feel this way. Maybe too you need to act more adult to feel more like one.

I don't think a ritual will help you feel like a man. I am a girl,13 and nowhere an expert on manhood rituals (obviously), but I'm pretty sure you have to just grow up to be a grown man/woman.

I love ritual, and I think it's great that you want to celebrate this event in your life through ceremony. I would suggest looking at some of the other adult rites out there from different culutres, and incorporating them into you own (not using anything that's dangerous through; there's no need for self-scarring and things like that).

Maybe there is something you own that's a symbol of childhood to you, like an old toy or a piece of clothing, that you're holding on to for no real sentimental reason? You could incorporate a ritual where you get rid of this item in some way, symbolizing the ending of that era.

Dude, go out and get laid - and use protection, because without it, its dangerous enough!! Or, go get a tattoo!

Seriously - you dont need some crazy ritual like bungie jumping off a tree with vines around your ankles ala natives of New Guinea....
