I have a pregnant Boxer, and she's about 25 days into it. I have bred boxers before, but they always had their shots before they ever went into heat. This time, however, my dog's shots are due two days from now, and I'm not sure what will hurt her and what won't. I called the vet, and they said that a rabies shot won't do anything to cause problems for her or the litter, but the other shots might. They said that the vet should be able to tell she's pregnant, however, and they won't give her the vaccinations that could be harmful. I feel that I need a second opinion on what shots aren't good for a pregnant dog, just so I have info to go into the vet with in case they do something stupid, because there are vets out that just don;t care, and I've unfortunately encountered a few of them.
So, if someone with a good background in breeding could give me some advice, I'd greatly appreciate it.

My professional opinon is that this litter should have been planned much more carefully. The vaccinations should have been given prior to breeding if the vaccination due date was during the gestation period. Since reasonable consideration was not given to this, your dilemma is whether you should risk the puppies by giving the shot, or risk the puppies by NOT giving the shot. Pretty much a lose-lose situation. That said, if the ***** was given vaccinations in proper protocol previously, she will usually be safe for a couple of months beyond the vaccination booster date. Only a titer will tell for certain, so ask if your vet does titers. I personally would NOT vaccinate this dog.

Well now it won't cost anything to CALL another vet...
If she has had all her routine IZ's for years up to this point then she is going to have a certain ampount of immunity built up. The annual rabies vaccinethat some states require is IDENTICAL to the 3-year vaccine that other states call for. They last a while. Safe to assume she is not going to be allowed out chasing skunks and raccoons? Then she's not going to get rabies. Personally I'd wait until after the pups are born.

I would have to say no shots. not even rabies. Even though the vet said that it will do no harm, we do not really know. I would wait till after she has weened the puppies before she gets anyshots. She will be fine to let her shots laps due to puppies.
Administering vaccines lower a dogs immune functions temporarily, that is why they sometimes respond tired and cranky. We make them sick to make them immune. You do not want to compromise the puppies immune system by giving them vaccines, and until they are weened, they get what she gets. The vaccines could even trigger an allergy to certain vaccines within the puppies.

I would definitely wait.

Don't give her shots just to be safe. She will be fine for a few months with out shots. It is better to be safe then sorry. If you are positive she is pregnant than just keep her inside as much as you can and she won't get any diseases. You should listen to the vet because they know best. Yes there are some who don't care and I'm sorry that you have encountered vets like that. Good luck with the babies

i would not have her vaccinated until puppies are born
the vaccines use introduce a weakend (attenuated) dose of disease into the body and although it is weakened can be a real danger to unborn pups
it is really hard to tell if a ***** is pregnant at this stage unless they do a ultrasound scan so i would make sure they do that before giving her anything
most vaccines last longer than the reccomended repeat period ie if recommended to repeat after 1 year will last 14 months so will be low risk to wait until babies arrive

Do NOT vaccinate her while you think she is pregnant.. You have to wait until after the puppies are weaned, before vaccinating or giving her anything.. Unless you want to risk birth defects, and immune problems.. It's best to wait to find out for sure whether or not she is pregnant..

If your vet says it is safe to give the vaccination, I would have it done. That way, the puppies will get as much antibodies in the colostrum as possible. Colostrum is the first milk produced by the mother. Puppies are born with no active immune system. All their resistance to disease comes from their mother in the first milk. After a day, the puppy's gut changes and can no longer absorb the antibodies.

Have her pregnancy confirmed. Then under NO circumstances have her vaccinated for anything. The vaccinations can hurt the pups.
Wait until she has whelped and then weened the pups at 8 weeks old.

It is not going to hurt her to wait till she gives birth to get her shots. I would wait. Most vets dont give a hoot and holler towards this and I would make sure she has a healthy litter before you give her any kind of shots. Better safe than sorry..
