Doesn't the bible say do not worship any other gods before me? I mean why don't we worship Noah or Moses? Weren't they messagers through God? Please don't be offended. This is only my opinion. Protestants say that Mary didn't have any powers and that she only gave birth to Jesus Christ but Jesus Christ didn't have powers on his own. God gave him powers to serve his purpose to the world. Mary could've easily tried getting rid of Jesus Christ but because she loves God and honor him. She did what God ordered. I think we should honor God only not Jesus Christ, Mary or any other people who served their purpose for God.

Jesus should be honoured not worshipped. If Jesus is the son of God, why isn't Adam also considered His son? Mary should also be honoured for her faith, obedience and trust she placed in God however not worshipped. Some people seem to believe only what is convenient and forget that God alone is worthy of worship and He has no partners, off spring or spouse. God is the ultimate power and does not need help.

We have been saying that Jesus is God since the Apostle Thomas said, "My Lord and my God!" (John 20:28)

And John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." and John 1:14 "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

The Nicene Creed (from the year 325) talks about the nature of Jesus Christ:

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains what we believe in depth:

For many Scriptures that refer to Jesus as God and the Trinity, see: http://www.cwo.com/~pentrack/catholic/Trinity.txt

With love in Christ.

God is everything, there is nothing that God is not. God is manifesting itself in everything and in everyone. The miracle of God made human. When we honor each one we are in truth honoring the God within each one of us. There is nothing wrong with honoring Jesus Christ, Moses, Buddha, Mary, and others as long as it will serve your purpose in connecting to the One God. In truth, God the creator and the created are one.

I am a Catholic and I can say that we honor Jesus Christ because he is the son of God and he is God. I don't know what you believe in, but we believe that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one person (God). We don't worship Mary, we just respect her and sometimes we pray to her, but in we don't ask her to do anything for us expect help us to get closer to God and that's it. We consider her to be very important because she said yes to God when she could've avoided a lot of suffering by saying no and not everyone is able to do that. We believe that she deserves a lot of respect from us, but again, we don't worship her.

Jesus said : "anyone has seen me, has seen the Father (God)"

Yes, we could worship God...but if we worship His Son, God is much more please..because God said : this is my beloved Son, in whom i am well pleased!

God rebuked Peter when peter in the mount of transfiguration put Jesus(Grace & Truth), Moses(Law) & Elijah(prophets) at the same level when he said he wanted to build a tent for Jesus, Moses and Elijah. God said : Hear Him! ( not hear Moses or Elijah)..

So the heart of God is very obvious : all worship & adoration & glory to Jesus His Son!

No, regrettably they do no longer worship Him. during the Bible Jesus is shown being worshiped with the aid of the smart adult males, his followers, and the angels and believers in Heaven. Did Jesus ever quit anybody from worshiping Him? properly, you will think of so if He wasn't God. John made the blunders of worshiping an angel. The angel grow to be rapid to ultimate him. Revelation 22:8-9--"Now I, John, observed and heard those issues. And once I heard and observed, I fell right down to WORSHIP earlier the ft of the angel who confirmed me those issues. Then he pronounced to me, "See [which you do] no longer [try this.] For i'm your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of people who save the words of this e book. WORSHIP GOD." If Jesus is only an angel and does not forbid human beings from worshiping Him, he's not greater useful than Lucifer. Holy angels would not at all settle for worship from anybody, no longer even from different angels. Jesus is God. he's on the Throne of God, being worshiped as God with the aid of Christians, angels, and the believers who're absent from the physique and latest with the Lord. ---*---*---*---*---*---*---* A, your scripture rates are from the NWT, no longer from the Holy Bible. Jesus surely pronounced, "The Lord thy God..". The be conscious "Jehovah" is not any the place interior the text textile.

Jesus is God. Not only did Jesus apply the name of God (I AM) to Himself (see Exodus 3:14, Cf. John 8:58), Jesus also received worship, which is only for God:

"Then the men in the boat began to worship Jesus, saying, "You certainly are the Son of God!" (Matthew 14:33)

"Suddenly Jesus met them and said, "Greetings!" They went up to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him." (Matthew 28:9)

"They worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy." (Luke 24:52)

"He said, "Lord, I do believe," and worshiped him." (John 9:38)

"I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea, and everything that is in them, saying, "To the one who sits on the throne and to the lamb be praise, honor, glory, and power forever and ever!" Then the four living creatures said, "Amen!", and the elders bowed down and worshiped." (Revelation 5:13-14)

Jesus forgave sins, as well. The Pharisees were correct when they asked, "Who can forgive sins but God alone?" (Mark 2:7) And yet Jesus did that several times.

The person who said thou shalt have no other gods before me was Jesus Christ. But you are right in the fact that the Bible by itself does not clarify, which is why additional scriptures are needed.....and indeed they are had. And you can take that to the bank!

Jesus was not just a son of Mary, but He was the Word that created all things. John 1 and Hebrews 1.
