Check with your local volunteer center. They can provide all sorts of one-time or short-term volunteer activities that match your interest and meet real community needs as well. Typically, most volunteer centers have youth programs that can help you find appropriate volunteer projects.

Through my volunteer center, I lead various youth projects at the libraries and museums, package food at the local food bank, clean our parks and beaches, and a lot of other diverse projects.

Contact your local volunteer center through the following links:

The other option is to try the local chapter of the United Way. They also specialize in volunteer placement:

Good luck!

You might want to consider her working in a senior citizen center. Most kids today have no appreciation for the elderly and this might help her to do that.

She could also volunteer in a children's unit in a hospital.

Have her Consider a public library; they are safe, and something might rub off on her in a positive way; she will also be around others whom share a good pastime of educating themselves.
