I'm about to pierce one of my ears. Now, I know there is a standard that denotes one side being of the homosexual persuasion. I know I'll hear a lot of "Don't let other people make you think otherwise about this or that..." but then I don't want people who are immediately judgemental to think otherwise about it.

Which side does not give off the stereotypical gay man image? I've heard left, Iv'e heard right... But which to do?

Left side: straight
Right side: gay
Both sides: watch out for that guy or George Michael

That stigma really no longer exists. If it does in your area, then I'm sorry - but that is a throwback from the 70's through the mid 80's

That was more in the 70's or 80's. These days no one really knows or cares. Either side is fine.
