hey dears,

i noticed that lots of atheists think that whatever believers (muslims or jews or christians) do things and prevent from doing other things is because GOD said so...??!

will it's not just because god said so..god said so because he want the humanity goodness..and there's an explanation for everything and why did god choosed it for us or prevent us from doing it...
i mean god told us to do things like worshipping him for example and to prevent from doing other things like stealing or lieing or killing.. and all of their reasons are for the mankind salvation from getting to lots of troubles and misfortunes..

my question is:
is the reason for most of the atheists for being atheists is because of ignorance..??!

peace to you
anno

Why would god think that worshipping him would make us better people? Anyone can see it has the opposite effect. Are you saying god is an idiot?

This is not actually a question - or rather, it is loaded more heavily than a transpacific container ship.

You do not know what you are talking about and demonstrate no inclination to learn. As has been remarked many times here, you might not agree with us but by and large most atheists are far from ignorant. We make it our business to know as much as we can because we've committed to basing our beliefs on verifiable knowledge. We've all read your bible, we know about the history of the the church, and we can usually tell you more than you know about the origins of Christianity.

Bottom line is, no, we're not ignorant. Thank you for acknowledging that when you get the chance. Peace to you, indeed.

Umm....that's a lot to cover in one answer. Oh well. 2 points.

There are two many conflicting views on morality to ever say that one issuperior and divinely inspired. Christians, jews and muslims don't even agree within themselves, let alone with each other. So who has the "message?"

So is religion the only thing that keeps people from lying and stealing? No. So there's that.

Ignorance? Not believing what I'm told is not ignorance, its fre thought. I thought about it and it doesn't make sense. You believe what you were told, that's fine for you.

The problem is, everyone has their own views on what any particular god does or doesn't think is right. If your views help you in your personal spiritual journey, that's fine. But when you start impeding the actions of others, especially others who disagree with you, you run into all sorts of problems. This is why we have things like government and democracy. To run a society sanely, all the people working together have to decide what is right. Opinions on god, which vary greatly, make for lousy politics.

I've noticed how christians keep saying that the atheists have no morals because they don't believe.. perhaps what you're seeing is in response to those accusations.

The ignorance is with the believer who doesn't take time to get to know the atheist on an individual level. The immediate assumption is that they have no morals because they have no god.
That leads to the logical conclusion that believers have to have a deity in order to be moral.. what does that say about the believer then?

"i noticed that lots of atheists think that whatever believers (muslims or jews or christians) do things and prevent from doing other things is because GOD said so...??!"

Er, obviously you're wrong about that.

"is the reason for most of the atheists for being atheists is because of ignorance..??!"

Obviously not. Why are you so desperate to believe that?

So god told you you are supposed to tell everyone else how to live? That was the gist of your question.

I say it isn't for you to decide what is right or wrong for other people.

I never thought god said so. I don't believe in god. I am tired of you and your pals deciding what is right or wrong. We can do that for ourselves.

Ignorance? We don't agree with you and you notion of god and we are ignorant. You are just plain insulting.

Quite the contrary, in the USA. In the USA, atheists are atheists because they're aware of the alternative, which is to profess belief in a god for whom there's no direct evidence of recent activity.
