I have minded my two grandchildren for the past 5 years every day , and tomorrow I retire the family are moving 20 miles away ,I will get to see them very often . While it was tough at times ( I am an eldery gran) should I be glad my work is done and look forward to the rest are they any grans outhere that are 'eldery ' and how did they feel when they retired from childminding .

you get tried at times but you really love it.you will miss it you can find something else to do with your time,and they are still close ,so you will still be able to see them.have fun with your free time,GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!!!!!

i have not been in your position but, i think you should enjoy yourself. i'm sure you love doing it but isn't there something you've always wanted to do for yourself? you say elderly. do you mind if i ask - how elderly? really, it's just a state of mind but different people view elderly in different ways. personally, i think if you're up to a challenge you aren't to old for it. enjoy your retirement. have an adventure.

no im afraid im not a granny yet,but enjoy your retirement,put your feet up,relax have some time for yourself,you deserve it,,,,xxxx
