As I was putting a heavy bag under the stairs next to my freezer I held it over thinking there was something underneath, there wasn't and my arm banged onto the edge of the freezer and I heard a crack I managed to put a bandage on only I was told not to, so shall I take it off? It's sore and there is a blue bruise in a line where I caught it, have put witch hazel on it.

I would say leave the bandage off for now. Place an ice pack on the injury for fifteen minutes at a time, several times a day. Advil liquid gel capsules are fast acting for Pain . Take them four times a day. Do not use your hand and arm, let it rest.

if this does not feel better by tomorrow you should see your medical doctor for further treatment.

check to see if it is broken or sprained if so then u need a bandage if it is just a bruise i would take it off. As long as the bandage isn't cutting off circulation it should be fine. I fur bruise is really bad then that could mean u have sever internal bleeding so monitor it closely if it seems to grow go straight to the doctors.

if its swollen, take the bandage off. It wont help.

Otherwise, rest it a bit, put ice on it, use the bandage if you need to, then when it starts feeling a bit better, some gentle excersise.

sometimes it is better not to put a bandage on it because sometimes it needs to work itself out but then i am accident prone. If it is a contusion then i wouldn't bandage it but if you heard it crack then maybe you should have it looked at by a professional

i would bandage it for support, and as you heard a crack, i would advise you to go to your local casualty dept.
