Three months back I am around 194lbs. But now I am at 174 lbs. I lost almost 20lbs (9kg.) in span of 3 months. I really proud of my self.

1. Remember that don't starve to lose weight.

2. Decrease intake of food gradually from breakfast to dinner. Start the day with healthy and strong break fast so that you don't feel hungry before lunch.Try to eat less food during the dinner.Eat early dinner like 7 to 8 p.m in the night. In other words don't go to sleep after big dinner. If possible eat some wheat products like roti instead of rice in the night. If you have big dinner go for walk before going to sleep.

3.Cut down on carbohydrates..i.e especially rice.Substitute with vegetables and fruits . The good thing about fruits and veggie is that they fill-up your stomach same time they have less calories than the rice.

4.Mangoes have lot of sugurs. Watermelon is the best fruit in summer days.It will have heathly and less calaries.Eat lot of green veggies.

5.Excercise.Be active for at least an 45 Min's a day.

this what I did for last three months. Let me know if need any more info.

As i am staying in USA getting non-fat food is easy. I am not very sure the avialabiliy of this in India.

All fruits and veggies are non-fat or less fat,,

Good luck

Cardi exercises really help you drop those kilos. If you enjoy jogging / swimming / cycling, doing those for an avg og 30 mins a day at leat 4 times should be good enough. If you are starting any of these, take care to increase your load gradually. E.g Week 1 : Jog for 5 mins and then walk for 5 mins , repeat this cycle 3 / 4 times. Week 2: Jog for 8 mins walk for 5 mins and repeat the cycle 3 / 4 times.

Try also to incorporate physical activity in your daily life - Walk to the store / station instead of jumping into a car / rikshaw. Climb stairs instead of taking lifts. Mop the floor maybe once or twice a week.

And of cource, eat healthy.

it's simple. Eat less calories than you burn. You eat the calories, you must exorcise. Walk before a meal or exercise to get your metabolism moving. Eat a balanced diet, just small portions. Drink lots of water to cleanse your body. It may make you heavier when you first start but will even out. If you're a sweet eater, whenever the cravings start, drink a large glass of water. Drink a large glass of water before you eat. Stop eating when you even think you are full. Eat slowly-small bites. If you eat out a lot, put half the dinner in a go box before you eat so you are not tempted to over eat. Lay off the heavy carbs like potatoes bread and anything else that is white and eat lots of veggies. My best thing used to be to eat 1/2 baked potato (small) topped with chopped fresh tomatoes. That is a 50 calorie meal and it fills you up for quite awhile. Or dump veggies over it. No butter, no salt. Once you get used to it, you will no longer want salt. All it does is ruin the real taste of food. People used it because so much of the food was bad and it covered the bad taste. We no longer have that excuse. This is a lot of little things that helped me. Check out Dr. Phil's book about why you are overweight and Dr. Sear's book about balanced eating. He will give you insight on the insulin/sugar dilemma. He has some very good sensible ideas. Hope this helps.
Oh and no crash diets. LIfe style changes or you will put it back on. If you're like me, I constantly battle. I have to fight to remember portion sizes. If you fall off the wagon, just climb right back on the next day and pay your penance for being bad. Always eat at least three meals and a meal can be a snack-doesn't have to be big. Lots of luck. The hardest part-just hang in there-don't stop and don't give up.

Eat small portions of food about 6 times a day and eat breakfast. This will start your metabolism up and keep you hungry and you will burn fat like noones business! Also drink a ton of water while you are doing it, this helps you feel full and once you get towards three and a half weeks cut back on the water and you will lose the water weight also. Dont try to eat less meals in a day because you will train your body to store fats and you wont lose weight....

Eat what you eat now, just cut down on the portions. If you eat before bedtime, try skipping every other night,or exchanging your snack to a fruit bowl or veggies with low cal dressing. Walk at least 1 mile each day. Make sure it is a brisk walk. Don't run or jog, just get your heart rate up. You will lose inches before weight, but keep it up, and the weight will fall off pretty fast.

Your weight is normal for your height, but I dont know how old you are.

Fasting on honey-lime juice water is highly beneficial in the treatment of obesity without the loss of energy and appetite. In this mode of treatment, one spoon of fresh honey should be mixed with a juice of half a lime in a glass of lukewarm water and taken at regularly intervals. Another effective remedy for obesity is an exclusive lemon juice diet. On the first day the patient should be given nothing but plenty of water. On the second day juice of three lemons mixed with equal amount of water should be given. One lemon should be subsequently increased each day until the juice of 12 lemons is consumed per day. Then the number of lemons should be decreased in the same order until three lemons are taken in a day. The patient may feel weak and hungry on the first two days, but afterwards the condition will be stabilised by itself. Cabbage is considered to be an effective home remedy for obesity. Recent research has discovered in this vegetable a valuable content called tartroric acid which inhibits the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat. Hence, it is of great value in weight reduction. A helping of cabbage salad would be the simplest way to stay slim, a painless way of dieting. A 100 g of cabbage yields only 27 kg of calories of energy while the same quantity of wheat bread will yield about 240 calories. Cabbage is found to possess the maximum biological value with minimum calorific value. Moreover, it gives a lasting feeling of fullness in the stomach and is easily digestible.

Hope this helps, Good Luck.

a plan to balance your caloric intake with exercise.
Ideally, dieting should be done by eating a nutritionally
balanced, low-calorie diet and increasing physical activity.
