ew.
She had pleanty of food and water in my bowls so its not like she was starving and resorted to that cuz she was hungry.
is this like a normal cat behavior that ive just never caught her in the act of before or does this mean something is horribly wrong with her?

She vomits a few times a week so that's not unusual. The vet said its a common problem with older cats (shes 10) and weve had her on a food that should suppodily help her vomit less for awhile but it really didnt do much.
Its def not hair balls. Cuz there's no hair in the vomit ever. It's bits on undigested food still in the shape it goes down in.

Having a delicate tummy i an understand
but her wanting to eat her own vomit really confuses me a lot

I wouldn't be too concerned about the eating of the vomit, that's just an animal thing. I've heard theories about them doing it in the wild to clear up their own scent or mess or something, but I don't think it's a problem.

I would however be concerned about the frequent vomiting - yes I suppose it might be a common problem in older cats, but I don't think it's healthy! Vomiting usually has a cause. Besides which, vomiting this frequently cannot be healthy.

I would ask a second vet about this vomiting - I just don't think there are many that would tell you this doesn't need attention - I could be wrong, but give another vet a ring to find out.

Yes, my cats will do that. If the dog watches them eat, then they eat way too fast to make sure the dog doesn't get any. Then they will throw up from eating too fast and want to eat the vomit.
I just don't let the dog watch them eat. Then the whole thing never gets started.
Sounds like you are on the right track trying to help her stop vomiting so much. Giving her small portions of food several times a day might help.

You need to feed her a little bit at a time. It kinda sound like she's eating too fast. And it is normal for them to eat their vomit.

most animals do this. Out in the wild they don't want to leave anything like their scent that will attract other predators If you catch her don't let her in case there is something in the vomit

Its VERY normal for cats to do that. I have had cats since I was 2 yrs old and seen almost ALL of them do that at one point or another. However, I cant tell you WHY they do.... its pretty GROSS if you ask me!! But normal!

I know it is disgusting esp when you feed them so well!

too don't Fuss at her or act different towards her , because of this ...she is doing what animals do!

atho' you may think twice about allowing her to lick your face.LOL....

Completely common. I wouldn't let her do it if you can pick it up in time, but if she does eat it, it won't hurt her.

I've never heard of a cat (or anything else) doing this. I'd wait and see if she does it again.
