needs are simple...food, water, shelter.
wants can be simple to...for the very poor they are both wants and needs of the above...food, water and shelter...
for the rest of us it can be IPOD, PC's, HDTV's, Hummers, etc...
We all have complicated our lives so much with our greed...we work very hard to pay for our wants...when all we really have to do, is pay for our needs.

Wants are over and above. Need is basic.
Wants are important also, but sometimes the answer God gives is no.
Needing a thing, is relative. Like, we see that a starving kid needs food. Maybe God has another plan for that child beyond his mission here on this earth. Maybe he is needed somewhere else, or maybe his death opens other people's eyes, and they rally together to feed people in that country. Maybe the child's time is up for this world. Maybe his parents needed to learn a lesson. Maybe he learned all he could at this time. Need, from a spiritual perspective, is for the One to judge that can see everything at once. Not to be judged by us people with myopia (short sight.)

From a spiritual perspective, a person may want to rant and rave and spew bible verses trying to get other people to see how they are wrong, but what that person really needs is to acknowledge what they are feeling and deal with it appropriately.

Thre's no difference between "spiritual" or "non-spiritual" between the two. A need is something needed for survival. A want is not.

I had a class in that in high school
Wants are to me things you can live without and still be ok, a new car , a Gucci handbag, a cute wife, etc.
Needs imply some kind of outcome
if you want to kill yourself poison could be a need
to live: air, water, warmth, food, sex, clothing, shelter ...might be needs

wants is desires things you would like. but needs are things you can not live with out.
today most people would consider a fridge and TV a need even some a computer but honestly all we need is God. if we have food water and good health we are Lucky and should not moan.

Needs: Food, water, shelter, air. Preferably, all of it clean and sanitary.
Wants: Everything else.
