We must teach by example. When someone knows that we are a Christian, but they see us do things that are contradictory to that, that does absolutely nothing to bring that person to Christ. But, if a person knows that you are a Christian and you are following the teachings of Jesus and they see the goodness in you, the fruits of the Spirit, Galations 5:22, then that may provoke a person's curiosity. If they can see Jesus in you. That is why our actions are so important.

The Bible defines what is a Christian and what isn't. If we go away from the Bible then there is no definition except what everyone thinks.
The Bible has some very definite attributes that it says a Christian will have if they are truly Born Again, which is one of the requirements. But you are correct that if we don't know as Christians how can anyone else know..
1. You must be born again John ch.3
2. You need to have Jesus as your Lord. John 13:3
3. You need to take up your cross and follow him Mat 10:38
If you have not had a personal experience with Jesus Christ and been born again then it is just religion and not true Christianity..

Well, because *all* Christians, and even some wannabe Christians, agree, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life" John 3:16(NIV)
Beyond that, we believe that Jesus, though the Sinless One, died on the Cross for our sins, rose again from the dead and ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God.
I don't know anyone who is a genuine Christian who has not confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Some of us may disagree on the specific meaning of Communion, how often to partake of it, the rapture, or catching away, when Jesus is coming back to establish His Millennium reign, His Kingdom on Earth, etc., but every genuine Christian believes in water baptism (usually, after salvation, as an outward sign of an inner grace) and knows he or she can be saved *only* by the shed blood of Jesus, for ". . . without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." Hebrews 9:22b(NIV)

I want to think that the definition of a true Christian is one who loves and do good to all around him...not very different from a true Muslim who would spread peace and Love throughout the world.
Politics can have a very negative effect on how true believers think..the Muslim faith is a good example.
Politics have contaminated the true Muslim faith; I can't speak for Christians but they would know if they have the same problem.

Christian literally means Christ-Like. So, a true Christian doesn't just talk a good game, he or she actually tries to emulate the life of Christ. They act and walk like the Lord would have walked. I believe actions speak louder than words. I prefer to let you see and tell you what Christ has done in my life, than to talk about you. Hope this helps. Thanks for the question and have a great day.

God defines who a true Christian is. Jesus said, "My sheep hear My voice and I know them and they follow Me".
The Gospel is plain and simple. Some people try to make it complicated by relying on humanistic thinking.
Read the Gospel of John.

Each would explain their denomination. Christianity from their point of view.
Any cop will tell you if you have 10 eye witnesses to a crime you will have 10 different stories as each person tells it from their point of view.
There are many different ways to be Muslim. There are many different ways to be Buddhist. There are many different ways to be Pagan.
It does not invalidate the faith.

And have you bothered to read the source document? Christian faith is defined by what the Bible says of it. Everything else is speculation

Hon,
Christians are followers of: Jesus, the Annointed.
Nothing more to it.. That is the whole meaning of the world. We are followers/believers of/in Jesus Christ.
Remember that CHRIST is NOT his last name. CHRIST means: The annointed one.
Thus: we believe in the Annointed one.

Now, what question are you actually trying to ask?

The preface to the question is irrelevant to the question.
A Christian is one in whom Christ dwells.
