The Sun! I will take a quick guess and say you live in North America, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. So when you wake up the sun will be in the east, if you face it the north will be to the left and the south to the right. If its approaching dusk, just flip-flop the sides, right will be north ,and left will be south.

Its not an exact measurement, but will get you fairly close.

You can also use mapquest or google maps to look at your street, and they all have a built in compass. Simply by looking at the orientation of your house or street on the map can give you a good idea.

Also some cars have a built in compass in the mirror or dashboard.

The sun sets in the west. Stand in your room looking in the direction the sun sets. South is to the left North is to your right and East is behind you.

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. If your left hand is pointing east, and your right hand is pointing west, you are facing south, and north is behind you. Does that help?

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. When it is about noon, the sun should be in the south. Hopefully that helps!

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west grasshopper, and if sun shines on your face during the day in the northern hemisphere you are looking southwards.

Use the sun. From the sunrise, you can find east; from the sunset, west. Once you've got one direction you can get the other three.

Yes, face the direction in which the sun rises. That will be East and behind you, where the sun sets will be west. To your left will be north and to your right will be south.
