I read in an answer to a question that someone hopes that Jesus has maps so that these poor people living in rain forests will be saved or something to that effect. Are you serious? Do you really believe these people are going to hell? I think it is very arrogant and unkind to think this way. I'm not a Christian and yes I've read the Bible etc. etc. If I were to think in my 'Christian mentality' my answer would still be 'what are you talking about'? Not right thinking.

Murat: it wasn't a 'he' but I guess that doesn't really matter. It was serious otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to ask this question.

You're a sweetheart Church Girl but look at the people who actually think this way.......it's a bit frightening to me. Really.

I'm sorry for mistaking Church Girl's meaning but I'm still going to ask this because some other people believe this way. She doesn't.

Isn't it amazing how much ignorance is still in the world.
If it wasn't so sad it would almost be funny if you think about it.
Here you have someone making a comment thats so ignorant and yet that person probably lives in a civilized country AND SHOULD KNOW BETTER!!!! Unbelievable.

Plus...I don't care what religion anyone is. READ the Bible people we are not suppose to judge...that's God's words and it is He who will judge..........so please would you get off this judging thing once and for all!

Also, Yogini, Pretzel Chica....I know sometimes its hard to deal with ignorant remarks, but a true believer in God will always try to give a person who is ignorant (not knowing) as good of an answer as they can possibly give to get them to understand God and His word. Don't preach....just try to explain...preachy alot of times comes off as Holier than thou or Bible thumper and turns alot of people off when the Word is put across in that matter. But educating is a great thing you can do in the eyes of the Lord. So try not to get so discouraged with the non-believers out there, because there's many....and don't turn your cheek to them, give them something to think about, and maybe it might get them to see things and believe differently because of it. Hang in there!

(S)he(?) was being sarcastic, but i think christians believe that even if a person hasn't heard or didn't have a chance to learn about the ways of Christianity, he would end up in hell. They even say that innocent babies would end up in limbo..?!

Edit. There are some sincere people among christians like Cassie after all. :)

Edit. This is a common saying in Africa:

"The white man came to us with the Bible in one hand and found that we had land. He gave us the Bible and took the land. Now we have the Bible and he has the land.". Nuff said.

Yet another edit. Yogini, i know you are serious, but that's the way YA is, you get all kinds of responses. Read it all and decide for yourself.

So that was 'she', right? No problem :)

When the Spaniards first invaded South America, the priests would baptize native babies and immediately have them killed so that they would not slip into pagan ways and not go to heaven. They thought they were doing their souls a favor.

Most Christians who believe in Hell think they are going there and nearly everyone else is not. No hope for those poor rain forest indians, or the Buddhists, or Hindus.

Well before, I used to think they would be saved because they were ignorant of Christ and could not ask for forgiveness.... But the more I studied the Bible I became more neutral....... .............. Look, the way my mom is, I do not think she would go to heaven. I am still a Christian. If I would be willing to go to heaven without my mom, some distant tribe in South America or Africa or Asia means rather little to me compared to my mother.

A few counterpoints

1) Even IF every tribe was preached to, do you think all of them would accept it? I think not.

2) Then do you think it was entirely okay for the Spanish to try to convert every single Native American? ..................... truthfully only a couple of the Spanish (missionaries) were concerned about the Natives, the others just wanted to take over the area and gain financial profit.

I'm a Christian but I have very different believes then what most Christians have. I don't believe God is the big evil man that goes around condemning people to hell. I believe he actually understands people. No I don't believe Indigenous tribes are going to hell. That makes no sense. It's just hateful preachers that preach that crud.

The Bible does speak of these things. "For when the Gentiles {heathen nations who have not heard the gospel}, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another" Rom 2:14-15. Paul was speaking of those who follow the dictates of their conscience, of what they know to be right. They are law unto themselves. God does not really care about the amount of light that you have, but what you do with it. There will be many heathen in Heaven before those who profess to be ambassadors for Christ but put Him into an open shame, either by doctrine, or by action.

Technically, i think of they could have been advantageous, as a results of fact in the event that they did no longer understand approximately God and Jesus, they won't be judged for understanding and rejecting them. those people who're Christians are instructed to help unfold the Gospel. i've got not got a difficulty with somebody coming in and telling the folk approximately God and Jesus and leaving. I do have a difficulty with the way rigidity has been used interior the previous to transform people. That has no longer something to do with loose will or love.

Well, I could use the line.."Ignorance of the law is no excuse..." but, God will find a way to bring the scripture to those who really question about an afterlife. How and why, we can't even begin to understand. God has a plan and that is why we have to trust and have faith that he will make sure everyone has a chance to enter the kingdom of Heaven. :) Thanks and have a great day!!

I fight the missionaries. These missionaries are sponsored by corporate interests without regard for the people. Within a year of tribal conversion to Christianity, Amazonian Indians wind up alcoholics and prostitutes and their families are destroyed. Their former villages wind up as lumber camps and the people are gone. It's called genocide.
