The Bible never said this. In fact the opposite is true: "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." (Matthew 24:36)

Nowhere in the Bible is a date given for Christ's return; however, there are clues there that show that we are close. They describe the state of the world at the time of His return, which is nothing like any other period in history.
The Millerite movement of the early part of the 19th century believed that Christ would return in 1844. When that year came and went, many were disappointed and left the church. Those who remained steadfast decided to re-examine the prophecy. What they found was that 1844 was actually the year that Christ would begin His work in the heavenly sanctuary (akin to the OT sanctuary, which was a model of it). This is when Christ would begin deciding the cases of all who are lost or saved. When He finishes this work, He will return. No date is given for His return. Even Christ says that not even He Himself, nor the angels, know what time He will return, but only His Father in Heaven.
It is interesting to note that the week is 6 days followed by the Sabbath (the 7th day), and likewise the Earth is about 6,000 years old (give or take a few years), and the 7th millennium will be a Sabbath that the Saved will keep in the New Jerusalem. We also need to keep in mind those extra years we need to allow for overlapping of generations of the patriarchs when calculating the age of the Earth. Also, years in Christ's time were measured by the Hebrew Lunar calendar. We didn't get our solar calendar until the Catholic Church took over in the mid 4th century.
However, I believe that Christ is coming soon; all the signs are consistent with the Bible's descriptions.

Jesus was born and walked the earth as a man 2000 years ago. No one, not even Jesus Christ knows when he will return, only God knows. The Bible states that Jesus will return very soon, no specifics. Jesus will come like a thief in the night so one must always be prepared. Live every day as if it were your last.

Actually in the Christian Bible Jesus says he will return right after he dies. But then he didn't, did he.

In fact, after a few years waiting, without him returning, that's when the Church fathers (all gentiles by then) invented the idea of a "second coming" to try to explain away why Jesus didn't come back and apparently lied to his followers.

There is no such thing in Judaism as a "second coming" for the true messiah. He comes once and fulfills ALL the prophecies right then and there, or he is not the messiah. Guess who didn't do that. Oh, and the messiah isn't to be killed as some sort of human virgin blood sacrifice for sin, either, in Judaism. That's ancient paganism taken into the Christian religion.

Actually, the bible never said anything about 2000 years.

Even if it wasn't mythology to begin with, people have misconstrued everything that it says anyway.

It specifically says that 'noone knows when jeebuz comes back' (which is convenient because you can keep up this 'jeebuz is coming back eventually' nonsense indefinitely).

Every generation for hundreds of years has thought they were living in 'end times' because of the horrible stuff going on - they propagate the myth that things 'used to be so great in the good old days' when those 'good ol days' never f**king existed. People might used to have been a little bit more modest and whatnot - but there was just as much sick stuff going on, murder, abuse, rape, drinking/drugs, hate crimes, racism, etc. etc. - they were just better at ignoring it, hiding it, or just not reporting it.

No, in the bible it says that no one knows the day or the hour that He will but He will come like a thief in the night. I Thessalonians 5:1-2

I don't think it says anywhere in the Bible that Christ would return in 2000 years. It does say that no man knows the day nor the hour of his return.

Hi -
We are told that no one but the Father knows the time of Christ's return. The most important thing you need to know is that it will come very quickly when we least expect it and that we all need to be ready.
2 Peter 3:9 says "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance."
So the question for you is are you ready?
If you want information about how to be ready please feel free to email me.

Are we Living in the End Times?

What will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? This was a question the disciples asked Jesus.
Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ, and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. (Matthew 24:4-8)
Signs
Many will go here and there to increase knowledge. (Daniel 12:4) Right now technology increased so quick every thing in our houses is out dated in about half a year. We have so much knowledge available through the Internet; we will never be able to view it all on just one subject.
On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. (Zechariah 12:3) Just about everyone in the world is now against Israel. No one is able to destroy Israel once they become a nation again.
They will say, "This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden; the cities that were lying in ruins, desolate and destroyed, are now fortified and inhabited." (Ezekiel 36:35) Before Israel came back to their promised land, the land was desolate. Now they are one of the biggest traders in the world in produce. Israel has rebuilt the entire city that was ruins. Israel has everything they need to rebuild the temple right now.
He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth. (Isaiah 11:12) This prophecy has already happened. Israel was scattered in 70AD. Now Israel has become a nation again.
He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. (Revelation 13:15) this prophecy can now take place. We now have computers that can keep track of everyone in the world. The world is already trying to form a one world government and currency.
Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. For three and a half days men from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. (Revelation 11:8-9) Now this prophecy can happen also. Everyone can now watch these people on TV. We now have satellites that can show everyone in the world what is happening in a single place.
They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. (Luke 21:24) The time of the gentiles was 70A.D. until June 7, 1967. The 1967-generation is the generation that will see the Lord return. The bible says, "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. (Matthew 24:32-34) The fig tree is the symbol of Israel. The leaves coming out of the fig tree is the Jews becoming a nation again. Summer is referring to the days when Jesus will come back for the second time. The generation that sees this prophecy happen will not pass away until the Lord returns.
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. (2 Timothy 3:1-5) This prophecy is happening today. This describes just about everyone today.
Friend we are living in the end times right now. If you were to die today would you go to heaven or hell? If Jesus were to come back tonight would you already be right with him?
