A wireless network enables network pcs to communicate with each other.

If you want the wireless network to link to the Internet, you need a router and the router's WAN port needs to connect to the Internet Feed.

The Internet feed can be via DSL (requires a phone line) or CATV (requires cable tv feed) or a satellite internet (DirecTV and Dish offer these) or a local wireless internet provider. It depends what your area has to offer.
