if it means happy how come we call homosexuals gay now

it makes no sense

also when people say

'thats so gay'

wtf...nothing makes sense in the english language anymore

It meant happy but it also meant that they were jovial and festive, and that is how the stereotype of the gay was at first set, as a happy festive and flashy person, that is why they called them a "gay" person. Thus later only gay

I think homosexuals at one point gave themselves that because they're happy with who they are (for the most part). But that's a guess.

When someone says "That's so gay" they mean it as an insult. Usually meaning nonsense or stupidity, but also weakness.

The old meaning meant "happy".

Today it means "homosexual", however it is also used among teenagers to mean "weird".
