A guy who lives in my building about 50,, we talked and were friendly for a long time, but just in the building.. My mom watched his cat for a week one time..
I saw him one day and he made a voice imitating my Mom in her italian accent in high pitched tone and he goes "hows your cat".. runs down the stairs, laughs and says your mom is always saying that..

I felt really offended,, he was making fun of my mother.. I havent been friendly to him since, when i see him in the street i walk the other way.

Other people are going to see your mom in a much more objective light. Does this bother you? It shouldn't. Maybe you should try to see your mother through their eyes and see if it changes your opinion then. It probably won't because you can't be objective. Take it all with a grain of salt. Not everyone is going to see your mother the way you do. If it bothers you that much tell him to shut the fvck up or go find some new friends.

I don't think he meant to offend you. It sounds like he was trying to make you laugh but obviously did a poor job. If you want to test it though. Imitate something his wife says all the time, laugh, and see how he responds.

He is very rude; he is also without class. What a jerk he is to make fun of your mother's accent. Next time he can find someone else to take care of his stupid cat. How dare he make fun of your mother when she has been kind to him.

I would let him know that he offended you.

50 is NOT old!
Rudeness and insensitivity are found in people of all ages.

It's never a good thing to make fun of someones accent. I think he was insulting.

If he owned a cat chances are he is kind of weird so I wouldn't think anything of it. He was probably jsut kidding around.

At least let him know why you're upset. Give him a chance to apologize. He probably just thinks your mother's voice is endearing, and that was his way of showing it. It doesn't sound like mockery to me.

Eh, most of the time people that do things like that aren't really meaning to offend, they're just very socially inept.
